Hand-Cannon Pure for Staking?

Hey guys I just wanted to hear your thoughts on a hand-cannon pure used for staking. Their base stats are 75 Range and 27 Defence. They use a hand-cannon to fight people and basically bust 300's-350's at 57-60 Combat. Would this work for staking? Would this be good for Pking with old wildy coming around? Just wanted to hear your comments. I'm working on one now botting 99 firemaking on it so the cannon doesn't break as much. Also had the idea of getting 30 defence and turmoil. Basically wanna make a different kind of pure and you don't see too many of these around.

Well you have to think of it like this. Would the same combat with the same stats or better range depending if you could get better range and such be better? I don't know if it'd be all that effective or not considering you can get lower defense and higher range. I'd rather use rune knives/obsidian rings over hand cannon. I think morrigan's javelin spec would be more effective than the hand cannon one, but I don't know. I know the hand cannon's slow so that kind of kills it. you could always use a crossbow with a shield over the hand cannon.

 

Well the cannon is kinda slow, so i don''t really think it would be that good, obby rings or rune knifes p should work better

 

I've had one with 80 range and 33 defense was around 63 combat. They're decent. Most of the time people run... rushing is good got a few kills like that. They have their pros and cons.

 

Might work well if u just use it for spec and then switch to knifes...
But u could aswell dbow then actually ^^

 

would work well in staking if you bought full morrigans too for the def and range bonus i used to have one of these but 42 def for void handcannoner it owned lol

Range figth is normally with Dart/Knives

 

most people dont stake with 2h weapons on either that might ruin your plan

Would obviously use a knife to cannon combo. Not just straight up hand cannon. Use some logic.

 

Actually you are wrong there. What he means is that most people don't range stake with the shield spot on and you need it to use the hand-cannon.

But for pking it works quite well, specially for rushing.

 

Im thinking i'd clean you out if you tried that.

cannon is way to slow

 

I agree with the comment ^, it's far to slow, all it takes is 1 bad hit and a 15-15 with dds or 40 with vls and you have f**ked it..

 

Well on a side note, would this fair well in the old wildy? I'm thinking of making a 30 def turmoiler with a hand cannon. Would use knifes to cannon most likely.

 

Knifes fail at high level... try msb > cannon

best would just be whipping/dds especially if you had turmoil
