DK - Ring of Wealth

I've heard that wearing a ring of wealth actually decreases the chance of getting a rare drop from Rex. Since you have an increased chance of common drops.
Does anyone know if wearing a ring of wealth to Rex is actually beneficial or does it hurt your chances of loot? Since I'm only going for the axe/ rings since I don't have a pack yak.

"According to a 15 March 2011 Jagex announcement, the ring of wealth occasionally improves some common drops and gives the player bonus items in a few specific pieces of content. It has also been proven that the Ring of Wealth does affect clue scroll drops. When the ring affects a player's drop, a message appears in the chatbox that the ring glows brightly and the sound of clinking coins is heard. The game chat filter must be set on 'all' or 'game', as other filter settings do not display the message.
Monster drops:

Slightly increased chances of monsters dropping better items from the Rare drop table whenever the rare drop table is accessed. Consequently, for any creature that only occasionally causes the ring to glow when killed, the drop can be said for certain to be on the rare drop table.

Don't wear a Ring of Wealth when Boss Hunting, use a stat boosting ring like a Seers' Ring (since you're at Rex), etc.

From the above reading content it appears that its a good idea to wear a row for their rare items, tip.it also advises it too.

 

I tried to google search it a few times but I keep getting mixed results on a few people saying "It's bad" and a few people saying "It's good."

 

The way unique drops work is that it is its own separate roll. Monsters like Rex with a unique drop have the following rolls:

• 100% rolls (i.e., bones)
• Normal rolls (e.g., common items)
• Charm rolls
• Rare Drop Table
• Unique Roll

The ring of wealth affects normal rolls, RDT rolls, and unique rolls separately. It is possible to get one item from each of the three drop tables. Just because you get a common item like runes does not mean you will not also get the unique drop.

The way RoW works according to what I've read is that it removes the empty slots from the RNG loot system. There are apparantly 2 drop tables: the normal drop table and the rare drop table. The only way to access the rare drop table is if you roll onto the rare drop table. Then the rare drop is rolled to determine the item. I believe teh RoW only affects the normal drop table by removing some of the "empty/no drops." This effectively increases that chances of you getting a better drop. This doesn't mean common drops overshadow unique drops. What this does is just increase the chances for better drops overall. I use RoW everywhere just because I rather have an increased chance to roll into the Rare Drop Tables.

 

Honestly, I dk alot and I found out I got more drops WITHOUT wearing the row, opposed to wearing one. It honestly comes down to yourself. Try 200-400 kills with and without it on.

 

The ring of wealth increases the drop value, and drop chances for certain rare or "unique" items. It has no effect on the amount of items you'll receive except for mining. Mining is the only exception as you will receive a higher percentage if uncut gems whilst wearing a ring of wealth.

 

I my self always get better drops with row. I did about 20 nex, didnt get a shit. And after I used row I got a torva boots after 3 kills.
