Question Regarding Payed Character Transfer

Hey guys. Recently a friend of mine offered to sell me his Ret pally. However, I do not want to have to pay for 2 separate subscriptions for WoW. I then considered transferring the pally to my main account. I read over the Character Transfer rules and regulations, and the only thing that comes up in regards to transferring a character from 1 account to another is:

"Transfers between accounts can be done only if you are the subscriber on both accounts. (We do not support the transfer of characters between friends, guild mates, or family members.)"

My friend is willing to go out of his way to call Blizzard billing and change the name on his account to my legal name. My question to you guys is: if he is able to change the owner of the account's name to mine, would I then be able to buy a character transfer and switch the ret pally from his account to my account? Your help is appreciated and if you need me to explain further I'd do my best to explain. Thanks again.

 

Well, he will not be able to change his name unless he has proof of changing his name legally such as his old and new ID. Secondly, all you need is the last name the same, first name doesn't matter. I share my buddy's account with him and we transferred my pally from his brother's account to his and it was allowed. IF however, your friend manages to change his name, yes you will be able to transfer it. But TBH you shouldn't buy a ret pally lol. If anything buy a tank pally with off spec dps.

 

I PvP. Not into the tanking thing and I'm playing the beta and Ret Pallies are ridiculous. If I gave him a picture of my driver's license or some sort of legal proof and he forwarded it to them would it be possible? He has all the other important game stuff such as auth keys, secret question, email, etc. His excuse was gonna be that he was young when he first made the account and didn't want to use his legal name but now that he is older he would like to put his real name on the account. I think it's a valid argument and worth a shot.

 

It's worth a shot but I doubt it will work because they will need photo proof of his old name, and photo proof of his new name and they must match I'm pretty sure.

 

It can be done but as pur3 said they need proof. I recommend just getting heirlooms and spending about a week getting an 85 pally, level either as a tank or healer with off spec in ret.
