"Another issue that is regularly near the top of the list is botting and cheating in general. With the increase in players we have seen an increase in cheating. Mod Weath does a fantastic job with the bots and although we see an increase in bots over the weekend, their impact is minimal. However, we want to put some more effort into general cheating and negative behaviours that impact the game. As such we will be looking at bringing someone in to do this. It is likely that this person will work behind the scenes and you may not know who they are, but that remains to be seen."


Do you think this will change anything?IT looks like jagex has lost control of macroing during last 2-3 months

 

Don't know if it has anything to do with the update but I did lose 4 bots tonight, they were going strong for a few months.

 

I have lost 3 bots and my mule the next morning after that post.People started to talk about bot nuke on other forums.I think thats very possible outcome

 

Their ban system is already great. I don't think they will change it.

 

Bought OSBOT , tried to bot. Couldn't
Jagex simply has already won this battle.

I wonder who is causing them trouble?

Maybe their current banning methods, as effective as they are, are very expensive, and they are looking to automatize them.

 

Try TopBot. It has the lowest ban rates out of all the public clients IMO. I personally use it to goldfarm over every other client and I've tried almost all of them.

 

I think they are going after weekend botting mainly

Its just that your opinion is bias since youre a dev or staff or w/e.

But I would also vouch for topbot, I also used it above most others. There are a lot of good free scrips in my experience.

Look into tribot also if youre willing to invest.

Tribot and Robotz in Disguise are the lest detectable from what ive read but im not really up to date.

 

I can see where you're coming from I guess. I'm only volunteering as a Forum Moderator. I get absolutely nothing for promoting TopBot. I have no paid scripts to profit from nor do I get any benefits from promoting TopBot. Everything I do is of my own free will. I even donated 100 Euros to it since it's been good to me (and I'm a PiP whore).

The reason I promote it is because I want people to know that it's legitimately one of the best public clients today.

I wouldn't be using TopBot for my personal goldfarming if I didn't think it was one of the best clients. I've actually tried a majority of the other clients with the exact same script ported over plus minus some small changes if some of the API I needed was missing and TopBot lasted the longest ban-wise during my trials. Note that I'm not going to say that my results are 100% accurate and it will be the same for everyone since I only had a small sample size of about 10 accounts on 2 different scripts, however that's proof enough for me.

 

Its a smart move if they want their game to live longer. RS3 was practically ruined by cheaters during the peak of botting days; this is partly why RS3 is shit. Everybody wins when cheating is hard. Those that are able to cheat well profit and it doesn't kill the market.

On-topic: I haven't seen any noticeable difference, which I'm sure it is too early to make any assumptions that anything has been changed.

 

I got banned on 30 accounts + mule at the same time which has never happened before removing traces on topbot. They got banned one after the other last night. Maybe this new guy is going even more ham than weath l0l

 

That's bad news for goldfarmers/botters. I'm pretty glad that they're trying to work on reducing macroing though, as it's annoying for legit players.

 

Without macroing this game wouldnt be, where its now.There is no point for Jagex to ban all bots.In my opinion, they are just showcasing, that they are doing something to fight the issue.I am pretty sure, that they could make botting nearly impossible,however thats not what they want.
