    Having Chestpains

    So all of today, I've been having these chest pains, and it is really starting to scare me.

    The pain is right at the bottom of my ribcage. It feels like REALLY, REALLY bad heartburn without those spicy burp things I usually have when I have heart burn. Whenever I breathe in I feel the pain, and when I swallow I also feel it.

    I strongly doubt it's a heart attack, since I'm only 14, always been on the slender side, did martial arts for 7 years, and I've been a good cyclist as well, not to mention I've generally been a healthy eater.

    The pain started about an hour or two after I ate this healthy meal of rice, teryaki chicken and lettuce, then I ate one of those Burger King double stackers. So I figure it could just be that that seems to be fucking me up so badly, so if this pain isn't gone by tomorrow I'm going to visit my doctor.

    Or should I try to go to a medi center now? Or could it just be that greasy Burger King burger? Or should I dial 911 immediately?

    Drink a good bit of water, or anything really. Wait awhile and if it still hurts go to the doctor. I think this is obvious, but do not go running, or any exercise right now.

    It could be a piece of food got stuck going down to be digested and scratched up your tract. Drinking will moisturize it and make it feel better, if that is it. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the input, I've been drinking a fair bit of water today, though since I was out in the heat all day watching a drag race, I may have not helped.

    I'll try drinking more water.

    Edit: I found some information on what may be wrong using some self help guide.

    4. Does your child have sudden sharp pain in one side of the chest with shortness of breath?
    Yes -->

    In rare cases, air will leak from a lung to fill the chest cavity. This makes it difficult to breathe. This condition is called a PNEUMOTHORAX.
    -->

    See your doctor right away. Treatment of a pneumothorax may require hospitalization.

    OR

    6. Does your child have pain and tenderness in the front of the chest, along the border of the breastbone and ribs, and does it get worse when your child coughs or takes a deep breath? Yes --> This may be caused by COSTOCHONDRITIS, an inflammation of the joints in the chest. --> Heat and an anti-inflammatory medicine, such as ibuprofen, may help relieve symptoms. DO NOT give aspirin to your child without consulting your doctor first (see warning below). See your doctor if the pain is severe or if it doesn't improve with these medicines.

    Edt2: I don't have any sort of shortness of breath, so I'm thinking could be number 2.

    Don't try to diagnose yourself -.- Especially if the pain is at the bottom of your rib cage and you're looking up chest pains and heart attacks. From the description, it sounds like more of an abdominal pain.

    A collapsed lung (pneumothorax) is not all that common among 14 year-olds, so unless you've been injured lately, that's probably not the cause.

    No one here is going to be able to diagnose you, especially from a vague description. If it hasn't gone away in an hour or so, ask your parents to call your pediatrician.

    It's definitely gas / indigestion. Take some pepto bismol and wait for it to pass. I've had this in the past in the same area too lol

    You'll be fine, don't worry.

    Alright thanks

    I wasn't really looking for a diagnoses, just some advice if anyone had any, which it seems people did.

    Also, if it continues THEN see a doctor. It can't be serious though.

    Advice is don't think about it, more you think about it, more you stress = more pain/discomfort.

    It was for sure that burger.

    A cheeseburger from BK itself, is very greasy and is about 750+ calories.

    You just had to disgest.

    If you decided to go to an adolescence's gaming forum for advice on whether or not you're in bad enough condition to go seek emergency help or not, you may want to go and get your head checked.

    There are quite a few knowledgeable people here, didn't want to freak out my mom saying I might suffer a heart attack or something, so I figured why not.

    Also req. lock.

    If you could surefire diagnosis conditions over the internet there would be online hospitals. It's all speculation.

    Do you smoke?
    Sometimes after smoking a bit the same place just hurts from time to time. But even if you don't it will go away, do not worry about it. Now if your left arm starts hurting like hell along with your heart and you feel really strange, then yes that can be the beginning of a heart problem, in that case, seek attention immediately .
