paypal gift

can i know if the buyer send me money as a gift ?
the buyer can refund the payment if he pay as gift ?

 

There's no way to tell whether or not you have received the payment as a gift. Not that I am aware anyway.
The buyer can always chargeback their money, no matter what method they send payment as. PayPal is never safe. Only deal with HIGHLY trusted users, when using paypal as the payment method.

 

If you had to pay any fee to receive the payment it was not a gift.

 

But what if the sender decided to send as a service and clicked the box to say they wil pay the fee? Or is that not possible?

 

If you send a gift to someone in a different currency/country and opt out of paying the fee, it will be deducted on their end.

 

All paypal payments can be charged-back regardless of the sending method.

if the buyer say he pays gift before you required, be aware of that. probobly he planned everthing in his mind...he can't dispute for gift. but he could charge back and file unauthorized case by contacting bank card issuer.

if its nt a gift payment, ya can see the fees being charged under details of the payment. which is ard 3.4% of the total value + 0.xx per transaction. Also unauthorized claim can be filed for gift payment so there's still chances tat gift payment may be reversed.

 

Use player auctions, no chargebacks!

ofcourse you can tell, just check the payment details see if theres a fee if none then it was sent as goods / service
by default a gift or personal payment is "ticked" to sender as the one who would pay the fees only even if he does untick it, it would just make his payment look like sent as goods as not it charged the fee on the reciever.


still a gift payment is as good as nothing if you dont know how to securely verify the buyer.

 

If payment has been sent as a gift, then the money should be verified to you PayPal registered email confirming the money via email before accepting payment.

Anyway is chargebackable. Be cautious who you trade with.

 

Any payment through paypal has any ability to be charged back only through player auction it declines the possibilitys of being charged back.
But it still can happen.
