If gaming is your focus I would not buy a laptop. You can get a desktop with better specs for smoother gaming for half the price of that laptop.
Yeah I know desktops are better for gaming, however it's not the primary focus, more of an added benefit if the occasion was to arise.
This 100% Thats a good Runescape laptop and a little bit of gaming, but honestly if you want to play max settings on a shooter game, then it wont do you much good
i always heard asus is good for gaming. what kind of games are you gonna play? over 1.5k seems like a lot for a laptop when $800-1k laptops can do the same thing. then again, i don't know what would be so much better about spending the extra money b/c i don't know much about the internal parts of laptops/computers. also, i would never buy a desktop. i like to chill in my bed with my laptop on my lap, leaned up against the wall with a bunch of pillows. so a desktop definitely wouldn't do it for me. i agree with a laptop, if anything. but could you tell me, what's the difference between spending 800-1k compared to 1.5k-2k. also, what's the difference between a reg laptop and gaming laptop? the graphics card, is that what you're basically paying for? i know 'gaming' laptops are always more expensive, but can't an $800-1k comp basically do the same thing. unless your running some type of game i've never heard of. please inform me.
Only a 765m? That's too much money for a half-ass-decent gaming laptop. Go for another brand and spend your money more wisely.
For 1700 dollars I would never spend that much on a laptop... If your going for gaming and you want the compact design go for the Alienware X51 my friend has one it's pretty beast he brings it to my condo and we game all the time also its like 600 bucks cheaper and way better specs. I can see mobility is an issue for you so the X51 would be good but if mobility isn't an issue go for a custom build PC you save even more money.
Ew, Alienware? I would never suggest such a thing. But, I agree with your last statement...custom build PC.
This computer should be fine running shooter games on max settings. My friend has a laptop of the same series and is very happy with it.
765m won't run hardly ANY games on max settings, lucky to get high settings at 1080p either. Personally, I'd NEVER buy that laptop, esp for that price.
well laptop wise, it is a good buy. However, I'd rather get a PC, as for the same price or cheaper, you could get a PC with better specs
x51 has a compact design... Yea you can get a cheaper big loud and heavy mother fucker but why I like small things that pack good amount of power in them. Most custom build PC's you can't move around you just keep them where they are stationed.
You can build completely silent, and incredibly powerful desktops in a case the size of a console. There is no reason that it needs to be 'huge and loud' although I personally love huge spacious cases with great airflow and lots of room to put my goodies in.
