What do you think of religious recruiters?

Or whatever you wish to call them, they ring your doorbell and try to recruit you to join their church "It's not too late, God can forgive you etc. etc."

I just feel it's rude, I slam the door in their face over and over and they just keep coming back, I get one at least once a month now =|

What do you guys think of this? They're coming to random people's doorsteps and TELLING them what's wrong with them, but it's not too late!

 

Annoying. This is coming from a Roman Catholic so...

 

I don't have a particular hate against religious people, don't get me wrong (not directed towards you Xeox ) but when you come up to someone's door TELLING them they're out of line, it's rude as fuck.

Yea no problem lol. I actually laugh so hard at the South Park episode "Starvin' Marvin in Space" because it shows how amazingly stupid, annoying, and ignorant missionaries are (or anyone who tries to force religion on people who really don't want to hear it).

 

Loved that episode, who doesn't love south park?

 

Let them worship what ever and who ever they want, let me be in peace...ringing my bell when I'm taking a nap....gtfo.

 

Of course they can do what they want.

 

I respect they have a religion, and I keep my beliefs to myself. I would hope they have the same respect for me that I have my own beliefs. To be quite honest, I don't care what they need to tell me. Each to their own. But, if it is part of their religion, which in many cases it is, they can practice. Just not at my door step, go to a mall, or a street corner where I can easily evade you.

They are just trying to help... Or so they have been told. I've been waiting for a Jehovah's Witness' to come to my door for a while, actually.

Not sure where abouts you live but I have a ton , Regular preachers down my local town and scientology stalls set up over town .

I think it is fine, at the end of the day they are trying to help, and most are very understanding if you tell them you are not interested.

Providing they are not trying to push it upon you = Fine in my books.

 

They need to stop knocking on my door and handing me papers I don't want to take.

 

Im particularly against it because Faith (any kind) should not be forced upon anyone, children and adults alike, making decisions in what you believe in is a key step in maturity IMO.

Anyone knocking at my door preaching will get a somewhat rude or insultive response.

Yes it's very annoying opening your door and having to explain to them why you don't want their fliers or here there little speech. Frankly I think its a waste of their time and mine. Doubt anyone actually listens.

 

Well, you have to look at it from their POV as well as your own; they believe that by coming to your house, they're opening up the door to salvation to you. If *I* were convinced that everyone could live in eternal peace in the afterlife simply by kneeling once a day, I'd be doing everything I could to try to get people to do that.

However, they should respect the fact that you may have different beliefs that you just as strongly have faith in. So yes it is rude, but at the reward of (percieved) eternal freedom, answering your door isn't such a huge deal.

 

I don't mind religion and I am in no way against it. But I am firmly against pushing it onto others. I either ignore or tell them to just go away.

 

They think they're doing something good, yet they make themselves look so ridiculous in doing so. So I feel bad for them. I feel bad for all the people brainwashed by religion.
