What levels to start pking at?

Buying a leveling service is starting to get expensive, and botting on an account I'm actually looking forward to playing is scary. My pure is 70/72/20. My plan is to get away from 1 def pures, and get into zerkers, where I'll have far more attack and strength levels, but they'll have vengeance and their gear, but I'll also be risking under 100k to their 200k+. What levels should I stop at and be comfortable pking for a while? I just know if I stop early, I'll be fighting maxed 1 def pures and getting my shit packed.

 

Low level zerkers are very fun. Try at 85+ str

Id say 90 str should be good to go.

 

I'd say 90 strength too, that sounds about right. Have you calculated your combat level at each strength level? You should try doing that to see what's the best level to get right before you increase your combat level.

Just curious - have you tried PKing at all with 20 def? My understanding was that they do extremely poorly against both 1 def pures and zerkers, but you might have had different experiences (it might have been a different story in rs2, but 20 def pures are probably the worst pure build in OSRS). To answer your original question though, high 80s-low 90s is when the bracket transitions over to mainly zerkers. You could get 75 attack/99 strength and be around 90 combat and probably do okay in fights. Maybe you could try it out sooner but I would get at least 90+ strength, otherwise you would be disadvantaged all around. I would highly recommend moving up to a zerker yourself though.

 

90 Str at least. You want to have good combo's with the SS/Whip considering you won't be able to Venge.

 

I know. It's kinda experimental and I've done a bunch of reading. But I'm leveling attack to about 10 levels or so behind my strength, so that I can actually hit through their armor. May end up not going well. But all in all, I risk 50k, and their bgloves alone are worth 78k. Idea is to have fun being self sufficient on a mid level pure is all.

 

Yeah, didn't mean to be so discouraging, sorry. Not gonna deny that 20 def pures are a lot of fun to play on in general, just that they aren't the greatest in edge pvp. Have you ever looked into clanning? That's where they really shine.

 

Meh if anything I'll slowly transition into different pures. Maybe sell this one to fund a 1 def. I'll have fun with it. I'm thinking it won't be too bad though tbh.

 

When I used to Pure PK, I just started low and didn't matter since everyone would have similiar gear/stats than I would lol.
