What kind of phone do you own?

I had an android prior to my 7+, I just feel like iphones have a better OS and cleaner design in general.

We also get updates for at least 5years so that's nice.

 

Do you rock a case as well? I've been using this one from Amazon and it's pretty much identical to the official apple silicone one (without the logo) but for like 20% of the price. I really like the feel of these types of cases but the phone definitely looks better without one.

 

oh yeah bro.. have to for the amount of times I drop it lmaoo plus my daughter likes to grab our phones and throw them. I have a case that attaches to my mount on my motorcycle. I definitely agree they look way better without cases and I really wish they weren't needed.

 

The 5 years of updates is definitely something apple has had a big advantage with by not releasing like 30 phones a year for different markets. Some android manufacturers have finally made promises for 4-5 years on their most popular phones finally.
Also with Android being open source there are communities that choose there phone and create their own OS with it being optimized for the phone that you can download for yourself.

I'm guessing this is your view from owning an android several years back and I will say that these have definitely been solved.
The crashing thing was definitely a lot more widespread on older versions of android, the phone I have now is over 3 years old and can only remember it freezing up and crashing a handful of times and most of those were when I was outside in the middle of winter and the phone getting too cold.
The Virus thing was definitely a big issue with playstore apps since it was easy to hide things and google didn't have any good ways of detecting it back then. But i'd argue that now it is probably much safer than anything apple has just due to the fact that they have so many more users and needing to invest into protection in fear of being sued by people.
IOS being closed source I'd argue makes it even more vulnerable. Apple doesn't have hundreds of thousands of people from different phone manufacturers and people making FORKS of IOS like people do with Android. It being open source allows everyone to look into everything and scrutinize even the smallest of issues before it can become widespread. This is why over the last few years you've been seeing random bugs and issues being reported of IOS features just causing phones to outright crash if certain characters, image resolutions, colors being displayed causing phones to crash or factory reset entirely.

My biggest annoyance with IOS users is that a lot of the users seem to have a negative skewed view of android because of things in the past and is causing mass adoption of just Apple devices in North America for the most part. I believe its something like 90% of high school kids in North America have an iPhone now with this number growing every year as people bully kids into thinking they are poor or whatever for not getting an iPhone. Having 90% of these kids probably purchasing iphones in the future is going to result in some negative consequences and stagnation which isnt great.

 

I am pretty sure Android phones are a lot better now. I hear the camera is definitely way better than the iPhones. I personally though would probably never get an Android again unless Apple drops the ball somehow with privacy etc. To each there own though and I wouldn't knock someone for having something else. In many ways apple is better than android and vice versa. Can't really go wrong with either nowadays.

I switched from Iphone to the Samsung S21 over a year ago.
Let me say, people really treat you differently for using android. People don't understand android is a software, whether the phone is good or not is mostly to do with hardware.
