I love quotes! I have a huge book that is just litered with quotes that I have been collecting over the years. I also have a note in my BlackBerry where I write down any quotes I see throughout the day, and then convert them to paper later on when I get a chance. Here are a few of my favourites:

- I would rather be a superb meteor shower, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of a man is to live, not to exist.

- There are two ways through life; the way of nature and the way of grace. You have to choose which one you'll follow. Someday, we'll all fall down and weep and we will understand it all - all things. Unless you open your heart to love, your life will flash by.

- Ink smeared like birds prints in snow... Not good enough, not pretty enough, not smart enough. My sacrafice I will drop bone by bone, perched on the ledge of my womanhood, fragile as my wings.. That last quote is bits and pieces from a poem called "Suicide Note" and I think that it is absolutely beautiful (although it makes more sense when you see it in the poem). However, it is written in my journal EXACTLY how I recieved it in a text from one of my girlfriends who was reading the poem in her literature class. She cropped it down I guess, and texted it to me as she knows how much I love poetry and especially writing down quotes, so I copied it down exactly like that Didn't find out until much later though that the actual poem is much longer, and more detailed, but that is just a glimpse of how beautiful the writing is.

Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.

Thats a terribly ironic quote because really that is exactly what we're doing.

My favorite quote would be

I really like this a lot. more of a poem perhaps but it's still a quote that really speaks to me.

 

Not false. I do agree that the last part may be confusing, considering that most of the human don't care about the planet but the rest of them, care about it. And it's sad to see that some people just don't realize that we're ruining this wonderful living place.
