This was a question I asked myself everyday in grade 10 and most of grade 11 when I didn't see the point. I then started improving my life because I saw longterm hope in my life with my new girlfriend. That changed my life and got me on the grind. We've since broken up but I guess now it's habit. I honestly don't have very much drive in life right now but it's just not allowing my life opportunities to pass me by because even though right now I'm not all that motivated there's so much equity in my current opportunities that I get out of bed each day.

After getting out of this rut. I hope to own a supercar in the future within 4 years or so in addition to having outdoor adventure gear such as a offroading vehicle, canoe and boat. Fishing is and always have been my favorite pass time so those goals will assist in providing the opportunity to fish.

Thats honestly impressive you are able to get up and go just based off of being happy.
Dont get me wrong, I am definitely happy too - but I had to make the decision to be happy while pursuing something.

Well, I am glad that you found purpose initially with your girl. I know that you will find another person and avenue that will rekindle that same purpose. Never let go - I am definitely pleased to hear you have current positions to pursue that generate good income to keep you going!

Putting yourself through a ChemE undergraduate degree is one of the hardest things you can do as a college student. You'll soon be able to reap the rewards from your hard work (iirc, you're a senior atm) once you get into the field. I understand the struggle, and many times throughout my undergraduate career I've found myself wondering the same things. Are all of these sleepless nights really worth it? Why am I putting myself through all of this stress? Will I even be able to land a job? You've put yourself in an excellent position for the following years, and will be more than able to afford your desires while your peers will be struggling to pay off college debts, and find a career-path.

As for me, I honestly can't come up with a solid response. It's a mix of wanting to be successful long-term while being happy at the same time. The two do not mix, but I try my best to balance everything in life so I can be successful in the future, while not burning out in the present. I try my best to set goals for each day, and accomplish them. Maybe it's from all of the MMO's I've played, but I find it very easily to get overwhelmed when looking at the big picture, and function much better when I break things down into smaller parts.

At the moment getting myself into shape and building my confidence up. After doing that I honestly feel like I am capable of anything within reason, for example I feel like I could go into management at the company I work for and it isn't unachievable working in a large retail store.

What is your major driving force in life?

My fiance is my driving force. Everything I do now: finishing my Biology degree, going into graduate school after, extra work on the side, is for her and for our future. She's my motivation because I want to be able to provide for her and give her an amazing life. So yeah that's my driving force. :)

What is your major driving force in life?

I don't really have a purpose or driving force in life. This may sound like a very bad thing to some people and it can be at times. There aren't many things I strive for in life currently. My only glimmer of hope is that if I stick around a little longer I might find something of value or meaning to me, so I guess my purpose is to find a purpose.

This quote is a good example of how I feel and where I am at personally: "Maybe, just maybe, there is no purpose in life... but if you linger a while longer in this world, you might discover something of value in it."

What is your major driving force in life?

That's a tough one to answer. It's definitely something that I've struggled with for a while, more so since starting college, where everyone seems to have their future goals and careers so well planned out. I don't really have a passion for any field in particular, and money was never a big motivator of mine. It's hard (but at the same time all too likely) to imagine myself doing something unfulfilling for the rest of my life. I guess I'm still searching.

What is your major driving force in life?

To be rich and successful on my own terms. I don't want to be a Trump or anything like that, but if I can create a functioning business by next year with livable income from it that'll be enough to make me happy as I'm only 18. I guess you can say to be happy is what is driving me in the long term, but at the moment, in the now, it is the desire to be successful.
