My biggest fear is failing.

Why? because I would have let myself and my parents down. I wouldn't be able to reach my full potential in life. Many more reasons too..

What about you?

My like, realistic fear is failure. Flunking out of college, not providing as well as my dad does... (he's got a really good job and I'll be ashamed if I can't be as successful as him).

My like irrational fear is having my house broken into. Idk why, after watching all these shows like law and order and the shield and shit like that, i'm always afraid someone will break in and hurt me and my family. No clue why lol.

Losing my family and not being able to provide for my own.

Absolutely terrifies me to the point of tears.

If ur willing to succeed, then first u must accept the fact u will failing!
Life and like everything is circle, sometimes we win, sometime we loose.
If u can't take the loose, then u are not ready to win.

Fear is my biggest fear.

Once you let yourself become dominated by the unknown you begin to change yourself.

Public speaking is my biggest fear. I hate getting in front of people and sharing my opinion/thoughts on some matter, and then being judged for it.

The only fears we are born with are loud noises and falling. The rest are simply learned responses from either our parents or our environment and experiences, these can be "unlearned".

"Fears" like rejection, failure, death etc aren't really "fear" they're just other, negative reactions like disappointment & grief. Just negative emotions that we all (mostly) experience.

Fear often leads to panic (nervousness, shaking, sweating), and if you think of the saying "the only fear is fear itself" and apply this to these learned fears then you'll realise the feelings are what we fear, not the thing itself. Learned fears can therefore be removed by either therapy with a professional or regular exposure to the things that cause this fear.

So if you mean learned fears (fear conditioning), for example:
  • The smell of gasoline inducing fear in someone who's been in a traumatic car crash
  • Being afraid of public speaking because you did it once and got a bad reaction due to being unprepared
  • Arachnophobia in someone who saw someone else freak out at a spider or was bitten by a spider and assumed they must all be bad
Then, I have none of those.

My fear is not being strong enough (mentally and physically) / being helpless / being useless in the world

Rejection, maybe failure.
And as a physical thing. Spiders. Holy fuck spiders.

Disappointment, failure, and probably more than all else that which I don't know.

I spend a lot of time learning to make up for that last one.

Edit: On closer reflection I find I also fear the following:

- Pain beyond measure
- Maiming
- Loss of senses
- Neurosis of any kind
- Mental disability
- Physical disability

My vision is already largely impaired, but to go blind would be the death of all I want to do with my life, for example.
