Never too old to play video games?

So.. i'm turning 20 in a few weeks and i'm planning on buying myself a 3DS XL because I've heard really good things about it from my cousins and I feel like getting into something new (besides runescape).

Is there an age where you're just too old to play video games in general? I know that as you grow older you obviously have more responsibilities and whatnot but I feel like i'll never grow out of my gaming addiction, haha. Plus, it's so weird to talk about these things with my friends because they all grew out of their gaming phase. So I guess i'm just the odd one out..

Just want to hear your guys' opinion.

Anyone who says x age is too old to play video games is a jackass.

If you live your life constantly subjecting yourself to other peoples expectations you will probably end up miserable and alone.

Im 24 maintain a healthy relationship with my gf, have a full time job, my own place ect ect and still play games. Granted i simply dont have anywhere near the time to play anymore i still get the urge and do so when i can. I probably only play 1-3 times a week for maybe 2-3 hours total... so absolutely nothing like the pre-responsibility no lifing i used to pull but the urge to play like that isn't really there anymore.

I did end up starting a new fallout 3 campaign, thatll probably get some extra attention soon.

    Tl;dr No.

Never too old to play video games?

When I started studying engineering I found there were few games that could amuse me for a terribly long period of time. I play WoW and Guild Wars 2 a bit, and if I play anything else it's usually story motivated as I prefer to take something away from playing the game in long term value. I can sit there playing Final Fantasy 7 or 8 for hours yet I get so terribly bored playing something like Counter Strike or Call of Duty.

I don't think you're ever too old to do what you love doing though. Take Sir Christopher Lee for example. He is an old man (90s) yet he is an actor (played Saruman in LotR, Count Dooku in Star Wars, etc.), speaks various languages fluently, plays in a heavy metal band and the list goes on. I can't actually think of many men much more inspiring than him.

You are never too old, but with age comes responsibility and with that you don't have much free time to play video games.

You are never too old to play video games lol. But I do think as you get older you should immerse yourself in them less; it's not healthy.

There are people that are old enough to be grandparents that plays video games. Games in the end are just another kind of entertainment, but at young ages we tend to spend way more time on it than any other kind of entertainment. Growing older simply forces you to play less to be able to handle your responsibilities, it doesn't mean you should stop completely.

I wouldn't say you ever hit a point where you're too old to play video games. In general people's interests change and their time available changes. For me I only really play games for 20-30 minutes and it is always on multiplayer modes.

If you enjoy playing why stop? As long as it's not controlling other things in your life I see no problem with it.

That saying usually comes because as adults, we have more responsibilities than we do as kids. For example, those who only have school compared to those that have work, school, and taking care of kids - the person with more responsibilities will hear about you playing games and wonder how do you have time for that. Even though I truly love games, as I get older, I am starting to realize how little extra time I have for them. :(

Basically, just keep everything in moderation no matter what it is, and you will never be too old to do it.

You're never to old to play video game! I been playing video games for over 15 years now mostly on the computer though. XDS would be great for killing time on the go such as waiting for a friend, at the airport, doctors appointment, school, etc.

I agree will all of you. I'll admit, I may be the oldest person on this site, but gaming is something I truly enjoy. I work and often have to travel with my job, I have 2 kids (who are more into social networking rather than gaming), a dog, a boyfriend, a social life and a place of my own. I am a big believer of time management, so I balance my life out so I can still have some game time. Mind you, I have been gaming since Atari was introduced. I have long passed outgrown console gaming since the first Nintendo came out and have been PC gaming since then. I highly doubt I'll stop anytime soon.
