I had the free version but it only gives you 5 updates then you have to pay but it works pretty good.

When the grand exchange update it notifies you somehow, either texts or a message on your computer, email, etc. Depending on the site.

You use these notifications to enter new offers into the Grand Exchange that make you first in line to get the item, therefore making it easier to buy harder items.
