Help me think of a good dog.

My dad wants to know if I want a dog, I do, I just don't know what kind. I want a medium to large dog. I just don't want one that sheds everywhere. I want it to be friendly obviously. So could someone post some ideas. I was thinking a yellow lab or golden retriever. I heard that even though they both shed alot, the golden retrievers hair doesn't really stick to objects like the labs does, because the labs is oily. So please post ideas and PICTURES would be great because I'm not good with dog breeds.

    -45-70 pounds
    -Very protective
-Doesn't bark much (mine doesn't unless somethings wrong or playing)
    -Strong sense of loyalty

Try a bouvier, I had one from when I was 1-13 and it was the greatest dog. It doesn't shed at all. If you can tolerate the shedding and want a playful dog, get an australian shepherd

    Also forgot...

Strong hunting instinct. This is why if you have other pets, I highly suggest getting a puppy. If you get an adult, your only going to be having ONE pet.

Damn I like yours to, is yours a mix tho? or a pure breed? and 333 can't really find your dog suggestion anywhere near here. I really like both these ideas. If I can find one maybe I'll get that, but if I can't I might just go with a Golden Retriever.

    Golden Retriever.

My gran had one till recently he passed away, aged 13.

He was lovely, and called Mulder.

He was very hairy though, and needed alot of brushing.
