What is a VPN and what is a VPS?

Sick of seeing these terms everywhere and have no clue.

Please explain in detail if possible.

 

Vps is basically like a computer inside YOUR computer that never shuts down, it costs about 30$ a month and it just stays on until your month is finished, you can run bots 24/7 etc.

vpn is what lots of hackers use, it changes there ip to something completely different so if you do something illegal the police can track them down but it will take them to a random house not the person that has the vpn.

VPS = virtual private server. can be interpereted as differn't things, one thing is a tool to run an RDP (remote desktop). so lets say you want to run a hightraffic website but you dont have a server, you'd buy a VPS.

a VPN is a virtual private network, a (generally) 128-256bit secured proxy server.

 

VPN = Virtual Private Network you use these to change your IP.

 

VPN: Is a network, commonly used in workplaces so all computers can interact with one network by people remotely access the network.
VPS: Is a server, which is basically dedicated computer. Imagine it as being a computer with very low specs (you can get high specs for a higher cost), you can get different operating systems as well including, linux, windows, etc. It is a virtual machine.
