Viou brought up the sectionals voting on promotions to globals. I think sectionals should be allowed to vote on promotions to sectional, but not to global. Allowing them to vote on promotions to global would mean they would see people voting either for or against themselves being promoted. This could cause many issues/divides in friendships among the sectionals.

 

I agree with this as well, having an internal vote on who is promoted to the next global could turn out to be a disaster.

Compare it to all the mayor's of the state of California voting on one another on who becomes the next governor.

 

Regarding OMM reqs, is there a specific format?

 

Well written thread, I wonder why the vading/scamming wasn't detected earlier. As for the highly trusted member scamming, that was unavoidable. People change when it comes to greed.

Just a note guys, the plznate situation is pretty much dealt with, He is talking with who's owed and im pretty sure FireZ's side is good now too.

 

Good to know that if your a mod and OMM you can dodge debts for half a year until they are known to the public.

Ner, Personal debts are something that shouldn't apply for trade's. It doesn't have to involve this community. It's something that's not received instantly, a debt is something to be paid overtime.

 

So if I told you I'd pay you for something that I owed you with me saying it wasn't going to take half a year, I shouldn't be punished? This is while I avoid you numerous times and while I pretend to be away while I'm dodging sythe but I'm still on the internet. No matter how you put it, it's a scam. Refusing to pay something owed = scam. Just because it wasn't a trade or what ever, it still counts.

 

No. But if someone owes you money, you have every right to allow them as much time as you want to repay it. When FireZ decided he had waited too long he was banned.

 

I'm not trying to say he should remain banned because of the actual paying back, but just the actions it took to get him to. It seems like (to me) that the only way he's going to do anything is if somebody's going to take this much action. The fact he avoided messages from him just proves my point anymore.

 

I don't intend to bash the sectionals, but there's always been reasons to keep them out of the upper level polls. All staff have distinguished themselves as intelligent and hardworking, but there's another level for global and the privileges that follow.

And, if anything, promotions would become more bias. Sectionals would be voting for themselves essentially.

This site is in dire need of direction and staff intervention..

The site mods almost got lazy an to the point of lets let the site/community run itself.. I love thiscommunity and just recently got active here.. I really want to be apart of sythe and make it great and see it evolve but if we let probs like this ruin the reputation and accountability of the community higher ups then what is their the users are going to be afraid to trust the 'official' services offered.. Idk

i agree on it all issues need to be addressed and corrected

and we need to cut inactive staff and hire more.. I think more than a mod or two for each section and more than a upper mod or two we need more active loyal staff. ... its how the site will grow and we get NEW fresh faces that will help improve the site and the functionability and the overall appearance to current and new members alike..

It is the #1 black market out there, no, the staff aren't lazy, they just do their own bits. Just because their mods doesn't necessarily mean that they need to post around everywhere, I know that some of the moderators help rune the site ect. Fire is always locking threads, banning members with his unique term 'hammered' I've seen it a lot. Official Middle-men are doing their best to try MM trades but if people don't want one what can they do? The off topic moderators and such are doing well, I don't think you should slate the old moderators being lazy, but I agree upon we could see some new faces but at the same time I don't want to see anyone getting the job, I want to know that we can trust them like the recent OMM Video, I think something along those lines is appropriate.

I think, in general, showing a failure to respond to people when you owe them money (one case a friend, one case thousands of dollars) is a big issue in regards to morality, which it is important for a Global to have in order to be trusted.
