What do you think about Legalizing Marijuana?

I've been smoking weed from the age of 12 and and I like it more now than back then. I have always believed that a Cigarette or Drink is worse than a Blunt. I want to know what you guys think of Legalizing Marijuana?

Marijuana does not cause brain damage, genetic damage, or damage the immune system. Unlike alcohol, marijuana does not kill brain cells or induce violent behaviour. Continuous long-term smoking of marijuana can cause bronchitis, but the chance of contracting bronchitis from casual marijuana smoking is minuscule. Respiratory health hazards can be totally eliminated by consuming marijuana via non-smoking methods, i.e., ingesting marijuana via baked foods, tincture, or vaporizer.

Marijuana does not cause serious health problems like those caused by tobacco or alcohol (e.g., strong addiction, cancer, heart problems, birth defects, emphysema, liver damage, etc.). Death from a marijuana overdose is impossible. In all of world history, there has never been a single human death attributed to a health problem caused by marijuana. Legalize marijuana and life would be better for most people.

I personally think cigarettes and Alcohol are more harmful than weed. There would probably be a lot of problems and strike backs at first if it were legalized, but I'm all for it.

 

I think it would be pretty great if it was legalized, but there's slim to no chance of that. The old generation is just so against it, we have to wait for them to die out before we can make any progress. (just my opinion)

 

I'm all for legalizing weed but when you guys say weed is harmless its not true.

I can see a lot of people driving while high and getting into accidents or worse.

 

I'm all for it. People should be able to do as they please unless others are negatively impacted.

Can you provide a source for your statistics? A legitimate source, meaning unbiased 3rd party source.

I am all for it myself, but there are a lot of propaganda on both sides. There are harmful effects of marijuana, that is like saying there isn't harmful effects for drinking a lot of coffee. If you observe a habitual smoker there are many things you can tell just by their actions.

 

I smoke weed everyday,
And I say legalize and give it restrictions just like alcohol does,
Whether it's legal or not, people are going to smoke it regardless

 

I think legalization of marijuana is the only right course of action. We have a withering economy, jobs being lost by the hundreds of thousands every month, we have a lack of funds to create new products. Weed? All you need is a seed and some soil. Even if you hate weed, gotta love hemp, make paper, clothes, etc. I mean its a billion dollar industry just waiting to boom. What Vegas gets Gambling and Prostitutes let the world have weed man. Least that won't give crabs. But marijuana DOES cause brain injury. People who smoke A LOT of tree, can ultimately end up suffering from Schizophrenia. It is an OBVIOUS health risk to the lungs, just because studies have not been done does NOT mean it is untrue. I still think it should be legalized.

 

Just because you say all that, doesn't mean they are facts. There needs to be extensive studies on marijuana before anyone can conclude such a claim.

 

I'm not against it, I actually support it. But in my opinion I think it wouldn't happen because of people who have/are serving time for it. They would all want to be compensated.

Provide legitimate 3rd party non biased factual information stating that Marijuana is safer than Cigarettes and Alcohol and I will consider switching sides of the argument.

 

I support it getting legalized but I doubt it's going to happen for a while still. Over half of America still wants it illegal so you gotta wat a bit.

 

When a material is combusted in a enclosed space where there is not enough oxygen, carbon monoxide is produced instead of carbon dioxide.
That goes for anything you smoke, including marijuana.

Carbon monoxide is a unstable compound, as the orbitals of the carbon continuously hybridize and de-hybridize, repeating the forming and reforming from a single bond to a double bond and back.

Carbon monoxide is the compound that kills your brain cells. It is in Marijuana. Thus, Marijuana kills brain cells.

Wow, there are over twenty posts a month involving the same subject and title, and honestly it is irritating. Yeah, it should be legalized but it never will be. End of story, end of thread.

 

I'm all for it but who cares really, nothing changes much, people will smoke it regardless.

 

i got my medical cannabis card and am all for it being legalized on a certain level...

i want it too be for 18+, minor medical card; even though its simple enough too get now, and it NEEDS too be taxed, that would be a win, win for everyone.

I think it shouldnt be for many reasons. I don't like something that can strongly affect your judgement even when used in small amounts, among many other things.

 

you have obviously never driven high. You really have ZERO chance of fucking up while high unless you just lose focus. But the people that can drive high know who they are , but if you cant then you know. Just like how some people can drive drunk and others cant. If you cant then you dont, if you can then you do. Simple as that.

But for the Orginal Post, i really think marijuana will be legal in 5-10 Years. I really honestly do. Canada will legalize it, then cali then Massachusetts then New York then New Jersey. That is just how i think it will go. In cali its already a 28.3 Felony, so any possession over an Oz is a felony which is crazy considering you can half 1/2 Oz and get pulled over and just get a ticket.

 

Maybe weed doesnt cause any deaths, however it causes alot of other side effects.
Such as being slower, your brain starts to slow down, wich causes you to be ''stupid''.

I cannot see any reasons why it should, be legal.

 

I personally wouldn't like it and don't do it myself.
