Help me choose what Xbox hardware to buy?

I've never owned an Xbox system in my life and I have no idea what I need to get.

I plan on buying a used Xbox 360 from Amazon, but I need to know what all I need to buy to have a wireless connection so that I can play it in my room. What all do I need to buy? I have a Linksys wireless router. I don't know if I need an Xbox access point if I have that?
