What happened to botting?

Many moons ago I used to bot on occasion such as alch, woodcut etc.. These bots used to run in their own window, not control my mouse and they were flawless. Reading these post makes it sound like that has go to the wayside and that botting is highly bannable?

I'm curious cause I want to bot 99 magic on my account.

Any suggestions / info is welcome.

Jagex started caring more about banning bots.
Glory days are over :'(

Botting can still be profitable for gold farmers, many people make $100s+ a month.
Just takes some time to experiment what works best now.
Don't risk anything you're not willing to get banned.
