I personally think currently its worth about 1M USD maybe more.

Could Jagex sell "Runescape" for that much? Most likely not.

Jagex could make more money by selling gold to companies who sell it to players than they could from selling the entire game. Maybe that's what they're doing...

It's very weird. The items and cash in Runescape is worth more on the blackmarket than Jagex could ever get for the game. How does something like that work?

You are saying that all the items in runescape all together is worth 3/4 of one billion real life dollars. I think not.

Cracker = 5k there is maybe 100 of these left
Phats = probs like 1k left of these in game = average of 800 ea = 800 grand

and so on and with all of the gold its impossible to tell but id give my guess @ $500m

If Jagex had some brains, they would dishonour runescape and sell RSGP/Items making 100 times the profit they do now.

 

Sorry thought he meant net worth of Fagex/Runescape: however it is possible around the 600-700m dollars Mark as there are a large number of expensive accounts and expensive items paired up with the cheap but really large quantities of items $700m is ok especially seeing as I saw this report on gold4fun that they made about $750million dollars in one year. Don't remember where I got the stats but they were real.

From 2008 RS total would be less then 10% of that total

so probably around 20-50m

 

500M is ridiculous. Total value is somewhere closer to $5-10M, I estimate there's only around 1-1.5 trillion gold coins in trade calculated by considering the amount that's been reset and the corresponding price drop in phats, and that all the gold traded is really the same gold being constantly recycled. Add items up and its probably a total value of around $5-10M. No more.

But I agree on the fact that gold is being recycled and due to the bot nuke there isn't much new gold entering the economy.

 

The majority of gp is recycled, however who knows how much actual companies like gold4rs go through. I'd say at least a couple of million USD in the economy.

 

Im ball parking here, but around 10M Usd, and to those who think Jagex isn't worth 500m usd, your right its not that much but you would be surprised for how much they could sell they company/enterprise for, but then again the game would change etc etc and could completely fuck everything up so best leave the fags at the Hq leave there business be and don't give them any 500M usd ideas.

 

The thing that people aren't taking into account is there is only so much demand which on most margins is already covered. I highly doubt you'd be able to sell all the gp even if you dropped the price considerably.
