What happens to the weed after someone gets caught?

I was recently wondering about this..
What happens to all the weed that the police obtain after they catch somebody mass-producing weed?

Do they smoke it? Sell it? What do you think?

 

I'm sure that there are some crooked cops out there that sell what they can get their hands on. For the most part though, it's stored in a secure facility and is eventually destroyed. In the United States, they have machines that chop it down and burn it until there is nothing left.

 

I have seen that they usually burn it or at least the plants. I assume they have special methods to dispose of the weed itself like hospitals do for human body parts etc...

 

They either incinerate it or bury it at a landfill.

 

This is most likely what happens.

 

The Marijuana is kept for an extended period, firstly it's sent off to be chemically tested, and then when the case arises it is used as evidence - held by the police until the criminal is sentenced. After that it is openly ordered by the Judge to be destroyed, and typically great care is taken to make sure the exact same weight and value/purity of drugs is destroyed as was seized.

 

They use flamethrowers to burn giant piles of them where I'm from.

 

I assume they just dispose of it once a trial is complete and it is used as evidence.

 

I had a friend in the Miami police force, and he said that they would pass it out among themselves, and then dump the rest in the woods.

 

They burn it after sentencing.

It is sent to the DEA outpost in Florance, Italy... U kno where jersey shore was dis past ssn... then som of the scientists smoke it 2 see wat strain it is cos they are blind and cant look at the weed then they can tell if u die from it or if u live then they will either send it bak 2 the US and then the US will send it bak down 2 mexico to ship BACK up 2 the US to sell 2 the ppl on the streets or they will giv it 2 germany and sell it 2 all the jewish ppl so they can test it out further on humans who smok it everyday to see if they hav any horrible side-effect or anything like that...

 

I have seen a cop catch kids smoking abowl , precede to take the bowl hit it and give it back and leave. True story believe it or dont i dont care.

 

I'm sure some cops take a bit of it..

But they usually put it in the evidence room in case they need it for court. If they don't need it for court they ship it somewhere and burn it with all the other drugs..

 

Lmao I bet most cops take bud. If I was a cop I would take the fuck outa some bud. Even if I couldnt smoke it cuz drug test at work or some bs. I would just take out like 1/4 of what they had so when they hear the amount they got caught with at the trial the person arrested would just be like " Wtf they shorted me!!!!" lololol

 

I actually knew a RCMP officer whose job was to burn illegal drugs.

 

I'm sure some cops keep it fro them selves but in Germany it's amassed and eventually burned (After tests to verify it's real.)

 

I wonder how many birds have gotten dosed..

They have these giant incinerators that they use to dispose of massive quantities of drugs that are seized, in order to get rid of the drugs safely and effectively. However, I have always wondered how much of these drugs simply 'go missing' from the evidence locker or around the station

There was a story in the news a few years ago in Vancouver about a cop who was seizing large quantities of marijuana during his shifts and working with street dealers to redistribute the product. He was basically drug dealing around the clock, both on and off his shift. Eventually he got caught and the police department was pretty embarrassed and disgraced by this one officers actions. Thats some gangsta shit though.
