What do you miss most about the original Runescape? (2004-2007)

I loved luring.
There were soo many noobs you could get atleast a couple in an hour and make some good money.
The game was so good back then, just wish it could come back .

 

Bounty Hunter back in late Dec 2007-2009 was the bomb. The cratered BH. Real World Trading was interesting at the time because you had to survive in the crater in order to successfully trade. I remember meeting at the lightning bolt lava area (also known as the Harry Potter Scar) in the middle of the arena.

I remember Jagex was incredibly stupid and allowed Easter Eggs to be brought into the arena, thus making RWT incredibly simple. Surviving for 180 seconds in F2P was not all that challenging. I remember on a noob account having a pin sales business with my real life friends (Would sell them p2p) and I think I only ever died once, and it was predominantly due to bad luck & untimely lag.

Cratered bounty hunter + no free trade was a fun time. Gold demand was at its peak, but distributing it was timely, tedious, and difficult.

Those were awesome times in the game though, believe it or not. Your wealth was even more impressive because RWT was not instantaneous nor were you allowed to stake past the trade limits.




Granted BH goes a little beyond your original Runescape dates, but it's still pretty Old School + was definitely interesting.

Well said!! Most pures had 2/3 def and 61 attack by accident and nobody cared! Now days its considered "ruined"

 

just the overall way the game was playing, was more relaxed. less tryhards.

 

Castle Wars was the best man. That's all I ever did really. I miss worlds being fully populated. It's rare to see anyone.

 

Def castle wars.. Altho that games weekend RS just had wasnt too bad there was loads of ppl but it wasnt the same.

 

The larger playerbase and the nice community. Even though I was f2p at those times, I still had fun.

I miss good old castle wars, even though i sucked at it and always got done by the ancient spells haha.

 

to be honest, the best era for me was 2010-12

 

I started at 2007 at a reallllly young age not sure if i remember much but i kno when i began i had the best time playin with friends and doin dumb things for lols. I used to tear up laughin st the stuff we used to do haha. Now i get on get a 99 and log out

 

Starting up the dial up computer to play.

 

The amount of people that used to play, and how I would look forward to coming home from school everyday and scaping :'(..

Luring and the community. The game was just a lot more fun back then.

 

I miss playing with all of my friends back when I first joined Runescape when I didn't know what the fuck I was doing lol .

 

This will always beat 04-07 for me, these were my favorite times. Although, I have to admit I would have been 9 at the time of o7 so I would have struggled with RS a fair bit. I didn't start playing until 09 so.... I don't have that o7 nostalgia feel like many other players.
