What do you base your trust on?

"vouches"?

Mine is possibly vouches, not the quantity, but the quality. Sure you can have 500+ vouches from selling upgrades, but I can have 10 vouches from 1k+ sales with them going first.


What is yours?

 

When I read the title I thought it was gonna be some real life thing, I don't trade(never really have), but I'd probably go with vouches.
Not ones fro cheap things, actual vouches like hundreds of dollars trusted in 1 trade and stuff like that.
500 vouches with all of them for a couple of dollars each doesn't really display trust to me, not risking much.
I'd probably trust someone with 20vouches all over $200 each, then someone with 500vouches and each trade was only like $2 each.

 

This can be IRL as well
But yea, I wish there was a more unique vouch system in place, but it would be impossible.

 

I base trust in this order...

1) Years known and Past Experience (Yes, both are equally important)
2) Vouches (Quality)
3) Donor Rank (whether they've donated recently or a while ago also factors)
4) Post (means shit)

As for IRL, I don't think I really trust anyone yet.

 

I never really considered your #3. I guess that the time of donation does matter, in a way.

 

In real life would be the time I've known them 90% of them time.
Recently a good mate of mine(known him for like 7years) turned against me and got like 2other people to threaten me. So can't always trust everyone you know. :l

 

Status around the forums helps. If I don't know you generally I wont go first to you.

My trust list is less then 10 people

 

There are different ways I see this.

- If your famous in the market with a decent join date and have a lot of vouches with people going first to you, I'd trust you.

- Post count also mean somewhat to me as if someone who has like 2000 posts and don't always spam to get to it, I'd trust them somewhat but I'd still have to review their vouches.

- Donators don't mean much too me as any donator rank scam, with the many recently.

- I'd trust someone that is friendly and doesn't seem to have any intentions to scam, but that is only when I know them well enough so years known is important.

- Past experience also gives my respect and trust to them but I've given it to them in the first place after seeing their quality of vouches, etc.

I still don't tend to go first a lot to even the people that are a little under trusted. I go first to highly trusted people or upgraders that have past good trades with delivering as its pretty rare to see an upgrader go second.

 

I base trust on the amount of vouches and how long they have been around for. How well known the person is can also be another trust factor.

 

I am sort of like you, I have only ever went first twice on this website(Other than donating of course.) And those times were both to Vietballer, I honestly have no idea why I went first to him, he's a OMM, but that isn't enough reason. I have no specific reason why I trusted him, but I added him to one on my list of few.

 

I base trust on the quality of the vouches - how much $$ involved, whether or not the person went first, and who the vouch was from.

 

Yea, I'm sick of seeing "vouches" from you going first.

If I went first to someone, it shouldn't be considered a legitimate vouch, since they had to trust me with nothing, I should vouch them yes, because I went first to them.
(Yes I have 2 vouches that I went first on, other than that, all mine are them first)

 

I do not trust anybody except for my family and the people I have been friends with for as long as I can remember, and even then, not some of them.

 

All you mentioned is looked over by me.

Nothing really. I trust maybe two people on this site now, and it's because they're good people. Okay, maybe half of Sythe comes out to be "good people", but there's just these two people that stand out.
