Which Two Chaotics?

Which two chaotics should I get.... Longsword + Rapier, Longsword + Maul, or Rapier + Maul?

(Dungeoneering is the shittiest skill, ever, so I don't know anything about these weapons. :embar: )

 

It'll depend on what you're doing.
Most people get Long and Maul for Pking while others prefer Rapier for PvM.
It's really up to you.

Rapier is useful for everything, even pking. For Pking, maul is pretty much a specless GS.

 

cls/cr as they are regarded by most as the two best dungeoneering weapons. Generally people don't know which one to get between the two, so getting both will solve that problem

 

Rapier + maul even though maul has no use outside of pvp but it's great fun

Longsword is just a combination of the two, more or less. Rapier and maul give you two extremes.

 

I personally thought the maul was kinda stupid unless you were a strength pure or specifically fighting a monster weak to crush attacks, because as stated its just a BGS with no spec..

 

Actually, there are a few slayer monsters that are weak against crush. This is for PvM, not PvP. PKing is the worst part of Runescape, imo .

I was actually thinking this, personally. CR for stab enemies and CM for crush enemies; whenever I need a slash-specific monster, I can just use a whip and be 90% as effective.

 

Yeah but you can get a BGS or obby maul for 1/10000th of the effort, albeit a little worse

 

BGS is horrible for crush. +80 crush bonus with +132 str bonus. CM is +167 and +155--100% as accurate and about 15% stronger. The obby maul is a laughable suggestion (no offense).

Currently, I use a Z Spear whenever I need a crush weapon. It's noticeably worse than a Whip+Dragon Defender, though.

I see your point, i would still advise against the maul.

It just seems like the Rapier/CLS have more uses y'know? I mean feel free to get the maul, I just feel that there may be better suggestions. I mean if the prime reason is to get a weapon against crush-weak slayer monsters, that kinda seems like a waste no?

 

Like I said, I think that PKing is the biggest load of garbage in Runescape. Aside from Dungeoneering, of course. I mostly play just for slayer and random PvM. Having CLS seems like a little waste, to me. 90% of the time, I'd be better off using a CR; and in the other 10%, it's because the monster is weak to crush. There are a small handful of crush-weak Slayer monsters, but I can't think of any that are significantly more weak to slash than to stab.

 

While I agree with this statement and the whole PvP argument, i just am not convinced that the maul has more over all uses (aside from pvp) than the longsword. You could use the CLS to kill many end game bosses like Jad, Corp, God wars bosses, etc , which the maul you cannot. While I agree that the maul has more specific uses (IE most strength/crush bonus/crush-weak slayer monsters) I just think the CLS is a better overall weapon

 

I have all the chaotic weapons exept the shield and i reccomend getting chaotic rapier/chaoic maul 100%

 

First of all, Rapier. No doubt . As for the second weapon, I suggest you get a Maul if you want to use it for PK purposes, and the Longsword if you wanna do other stuff.

 

Rapier , can't be matched. I choose a maul , fair-high hits
