anyone had any success with creating a online band?

just curious have always wanted to do this and try to find unique styles of playing to bring them together because my region is all based in select types of genres there isn't really any diversity in the music community

also if you even know of some internet bands or were originally internet bands that actually met up do share.

oh and by success i mean did it work out and were able to collaberate successfully I can see where it could be quite difficult.
