Lack of evidence isn't evidence. You sound like those "scientists" on those alien shows on history channel.

    what came before god?

Maybe god was created from atoms that formed life in some way, and thus 'God' was made?

If any of you have seen Prometheus, Alien beings which are similar to us created us, but that led to the question who created them?

    what came before god?

Yeah, and maybe a giant spaghetti monster in the sky was created in the same fashion.

OP: The question that you are asking cannot be answered, because many parts as the bible such as this contain logical fallacy's.

I can't tell if this is a troll or not? Either way it's hilarious. And you base our existence on a movie where aliens create us? Christians argue that if there was nothing how did the planet form yet they can't argue if there was nothing how was god formed. as stated in op "he just was".

His theory is not based on the movie, it's using the movie as an example to explain that maybe another *higher* being made us before what believers would call God.

    what came before god?

I don't believe we'll ever know simply because we cannot understand anything designed more intelligent than we are. I'm not talking comparing IQ's to IQ's, I'm talking about something that has technology we cannot even grasp, therefor we cannot perceive. The ability to make matter from nothing, for instance. Or the fact that our Universe started from a microscopic point of infinite points, and now is ever expanding. We can theorize on it, but never truly develop and prove its existence. Evidence can dictate our thoughts one way or another, but we'll never have a definite answer.

Completely disagree, we understand things about electrons which by nature are unobservable objects based on their size and the way we can go about observing them. You also have to understand that "nothing" isn't truly nothing on the quantum level and that everywhere in the universe is actually occupied by submicroscopic particles that exist for fractions of a second then disappear.

What came before god is nothing because god is a mythology similar to Zeus and Gaia meant to explain things that were (at the time) unexplainable. As we move further and further on in our scientific advancement god seems to be painted more and more into a corner he can't escape from similar to all the gods living atop mount Olympus must have been painted into a corner. God is essentially the Santa Claus of death, he exists only to give peace to people when people they love die or when they are struggling in life.

Matter has seemingly always existed in one form or another because e=mc2 proves that energy can be converted into matter, of course you run into the thermodynamic laws which dictate that energy cannot be destroyed ECT only converted, but I think we will eventually find a similar conversion and we will piece the puzzle together although all of us will probably be long dead by that point.

Also to correct you the universe started from a singularity which is mathematically representative as 1/0 which is an impossible equation which essentially means that we don't specifically know what it exactly started from other than it most likely being energy or mass as those are the only known objects that can be stored in such a small state. Mass is proven through black holes, which are so gravitationally strong they theoretically actually rip the fabric of spacetime if you are close enough to the center (you would be long dead before you got there) meaning time actually stops.
Since energy is mass times a constant squared this also therefore applies to energy.

The fact that we can actually detect black holes which by nature are invisible and extremely far away is a huge testament to how far we have come from our primordial state that we evolved into and even less than half a century ago when people thought that demons roamed around freely in the night.

    what came before god?

Once again, our perception of days are based of the Mayan calendar. The Bible has no account as to what was considered 'days' in God's eyes. Also, scientists claim that dinosaurs are the ancestors of birds mind you. So the fifth day could be metaphoric for life coming into existence as science proclaims that life began in water, and then the dinosaurs inhibited the Earth. Which would make sense, creatures existing in water, then birds (e.g. dinosars), the Bible is known for it's metaphors and parables so that's my own perception. However one fact remains, that we have no account of what God considered days to be, they could be millions of years in our eyes but 'one day' in his.

    what came before god?

After reading your entire post, I think I may have not made myself clear enough on what I meant. I agree with everything you are saying. We can view particles and organisms smaller than what the human eye can pick up, but do we classify these discoveries as more intelligently designed than the human body? More importantly the brain? No. We're on the same page with everything in space being occupied by something instead of nothing.

I accept that a greater being, such as "God," is a theory to how everything was created. While science can give clues to the beginning of time, we will never fully understand.

While Einsteins equation can prove energy can be converted into mass, we do not know how energy initially came about. Energy had to be created somehow, which ultimately created the first mass. While I accept your theory, it violates all laws of physics saying energy and mass was created from nothing.

While I accept 1/0 is impossible, if you prove the limit where x approaches 0 from the equation 1/x, it approaches some form of infinity. A microscopic point was the wrong term to use, but a infinitely small point with infinite points was what I was getting at.

    [/quote]
This is more technological advancements than evolution. While humans have evolved minor amounts, nothing is to indicate we are more intelligently designed than we were since the first humans. We are more intelligent, yes, but not as intelligently designed.

There are, for a lack of a better word, "things" out there that we cannot comprehend. Things that defy the laws of physics, can bend time and travel between dimensions with ease. Things that can create matter and energy from alternate forms of energy sources unimaginable by the human brain. Things bigger than our planet, our universe. This smaller than the smallest particles discovered today. We will always be able to strengthen, protect, improve, learn, and explore more about the universe and our human race; but we will never be able to discover or design anything more artificially intelligent than the human race.

Don't get technological advances and discoveries confused with intelligent design. While black holes are discoverable and fascinating, we'll never understand the outcome on the other side of one.

Things don't deny the laws of physics though is the problem, what observable feats that the current incarnation of UFO's have accomplished are well within physical laws as are all the motions of things we observe every day. Things such as drawing energy from the heat of matter ac creation of black holes may sound like magic to you, but it has be thought of already and is within the laws of physics.

God/a higher power is a human fallacy as those who lack leadership ability like to submit to someone (as fictitious or realistic as they may be) will feel compelled to follow someone who seems to have the leadership traits. God's, or whatever you may call him, corner is shrinking as we progress further and further, and looking at our past and what we claimed was Gods previously compared to today makes him look more and more like a fallacy than ever.

Where did all the energy come from is a question with a simple answer, potential energy. All things and all places have potential energy within them. The problem is that all the previous god's were painted into a corner then exposed and then people go on to believing a bigger and "better" one when the exact same thing is happening to him, is the pattern not recognizable?

    what came before god?

A simple question is no human will ever know the answer to this question and the reason being is because it is impossible for us to wrap our heads around a God figure. I mean...we can believe in many different Gods and throughout history we have created our own Gods with their own unique stories. But, no matter how you look at it we as human beings have a desire to know more about the universe. It has driven many scientists crazy to the point of fatality. Science is amazing. Science is facts. But "God disproving" science is false. Reason being is because it is completely biased and there are no "facts" only "theories" when it comes to the universes existence. That is the truth. So whether you are an atheist who believe we evolved over time from a simple spec of molecular dust or that we have been created by an all powerful God the choice is yours. I believe that God is real. I believe that creation is real. I believe that most science is real. The earth is old. The dinosaurs were on this planet before God decided to put people on it.

I can go on and on about this topic. I have read and studied the bible and I have read and studied many books regarding the origin of the universe. I am currently in school studying to be a computer scientist and I find quantum physics very interesting indeed. But one can not simply put an equation on how indescribably complex our universe is and how it came to be. I myself find it easier to believe in God just because I'd like to believe that there is a much more intelligent/powerful being than us mere humans.

This is all I have to say for now.

After reading and if you have any unanswered questions please don't be afraid to ask. :)

    God Bless.

Oh god you are so terrible and have NO idea about science, please refrain from ever speaking of it again as if you know. A theory must at least have SOME collaborating evidence otherwise its only a hypothesis.

Creation is a myth for people who are needlessly scared and need a warm huggable invisible man to help them conquer their fears. If creation was only this I wouldn't actually mind if people believed in it, but the fact that people kill others because their invisible man has a different name and a different set of rules is literally one of the most tragic massive wastes of human life for no reason.

For example the big bang is such a prevalent theory because the Cosmic Microwave Background exists and very well supports a big bang. Evolution is not longer a theory because it has empirically been proven time and time again. Lastly we didn't "evolve" from a spec of dust, we came from pure energy which was converted into mass in the big bang, then following this there was lots of hydrogen and helium which clumped together due to gravity and after long enough the gas compressed to the point where fusion began and stars formed. After the stars could only fuse iron the reaction becomes unstable and the star supernova's sending heavier elements such as carbon out across the universe, eventually this carbon gathers in enough mass around a newer start and coalesces into the inner planets, as the earth cools off meteorites slam the earth dispersing amino acids all over and eventually we all evolve from a single cell organism.

I look at this, And I can simply say this. How did we become living souls? You make valid points, But here is the thing, you believe we came by chance, we are merely a species that "evolved" throughout history from star dust and the universe just magically appeared from energy (How did that energy get there?). You know, you can use all the "Science" you want but honestly the men who came up with such "theories" have not been able to prove anything. Therefore your statements (Except for the proven ones) are irrelevant or...inapplicable to the origin of the universe. According to what I believe we were created in the image of God, The Alpha and Omega, the one which time does not apply to. You see, us as humans are being fed lies every single day, and yet we choose to not ask questions but rather we simply live as if nothing is happening. Many of us are asking questions which can not be answered. I may be farfetched to a mind as great as yours but in reality, your basically saying the human race is a big joke, we happen to be so intelligently designed the way we are by chance. I say no to that. Simple. It's not ignorance, it's choice, it's faith, it's something to live for. There is nothing

Creation a myth? Well, evolution is a theory my friend. Tis the reason for faith, I know 100% where I'm going to be when I leave this life because of faith. Logistically speaking the scientists who set out to "Kill the creation theory" do not get very far and that is simply because of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Biblical text being discovered across the globe. Linked and translated to match 99% of the KJV (At least what has been found).

Anyways, about the war thing. Yes, people use their Gods as excuses for killing eachother. But you know what? That just goes to show you that their Gods are not real or at least...they do not know much about what God had to say about war. I quote the 6th commandment "Thou shall not kill". Killing innocent people is no intention of a true Christian. Killing is only necessary if it is to save lives or to protect your own “If you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one” (Luke 22:36) is what Jesus told his Disciples before he left them so that they can defend themselves against raging anti-christians.

Anyways, another post from you is sure to come spewing more scientific "facts" that you aquired from resources and books and other human beings which is all fine and dandy. Just don't bash my beliefs with the nonsense. Trust me, I have read many things throughout my life on the subject of the universe (Stephen Hawkings A Brief History of Time and The Universe in a Nutshell), evolution, physics , and other educational resources, and they are all very interesting and I say most of it is true! Yet I still choose to believe. All of the resources state valid points in many aspects of science and it is quite astonishing how much left there still is to discover about our world/universe. I hope I am alive for the day Christ comes back to earth though, it would be nice for the human race to have a little reminder of what Almighty God means.

i kinda see things on the same wavelength as you. and i deffinitly agree with the 6th commandment thing. the bible does not tell anybody to kill anybody; people simply interpret it different ways.

and im so happy for all the awesome responses, debates, intelligent discussion that has happened on this thread. keep it up. and as for the spammers, screw off. nobody cares if you thing "weed" came before god. not sure if troll...or someone not able to read anything.
