' Iphone 4s cost £130 to make '

I'd say I was suprised, but this is apple. Thoughts?

 

Anything and everything can be/is cheap to manufacturer and/or produce.

This does not exclude other items such as a simple t-shirt, which might cost $1 to make and retailers sell it for $20-$40.

It's just business. :\

 

Not suprised at all, just because the parts inside cost that much doesn't mean people have the resources to actually build the phone

 

Sure, the price of the materials and energy required to make a single 4s may cost 120.
But you also have to consider the cost of development and the name value.

 

You also have to consider they buy in bulk. But yeah it's pretty cheap, your paying for the name and the product.

 

They havee to pay all the people which costs a lot so it doesn't suprise me.

 

The technology put into it and the actual apple hardware costs as well..

Why'd they sell cheaper? We buy it anyways.

 

Producers make things cheap, and sell to stores or wholesalers for a profit after marking up their price. Stores and wholesalers then mark up the prices again to profit. The world is greedy. This will not change.

 

I don't really see a problem, you need to factor in Research costs + General and Administrative costs as iPhones are Applies major source of revenue.

The raw materials required to make an iPhone may account to far less than the sale price, but you've already omitted numerous costs along the way.

 

But in fact their making alot of profit even with the development of technology on it.

Its a pity how greedy the rich are.

This isn't a surprise, or at least shouldn't be.

Those $50 HDMI cables people buy from Bust Buy probably cost $1 tops to make.

 

Exactly if you buy in store its a real ripp off on Ebay and many sites its 1$/feet so imagine how much does it cost.

Its pretty the same thing for everything in electronics. That aint a surprise.

Yes, it costs £130 to make or whatever, but you buy all those parts and try to make that phone look as beautiful as it does. I would of thought it was cheaper to make, I was fairly surprised how much it cost to make.

 

Apple can be overpriced. A lot of people just buy it for the brand name, but my friend got one yesterday. He said he loves it, but ended up paying $1,200 for the phone and everything with it. Said he even got some what of a discount on the phone since his broke the day before the 4s was set to be released.

It's the usual overprice Apple do on all their products, why is everyone so surprised all of a sudden?
