What about a Referall section or a subsection on vouches from other pages?

Hello, I'm Rael, Today I had some inconvenient afternoon trying to trade with someone here on Sythe, you can see some of the Info here on this Support Post I made asking for some help about it:

How to confirm someone Identity and vouces on Player Auctions?

Summary of the trade: An User from Sythe wanted to buy gold from me, he wanted me to go first, and he showed me his vouches from Player Auctions, some pictures of him logged on the webpage. I didnt find this proof enough to me going first to him besides the fact that when I suggested using an MM he said that he wasn't trying to steal etc etc. So I had to do a rigorous scan on his profiles. Needless to say I didnt trade with this person.

So what About if we have a section or a subsection for vouches from another webpage which can be confirmed from an Official mod from sythe. To be able to confirm them you have to be a SVU member, and have requirements such as Longevity on the other webpages, a certain amount of vouches, etc.

Im going to be straight forward, I know this would mean more work to mods, but I think is nice addition because it would encourage some new members to get SVU, and it would make easier to trade to people and besides that, it would eliminate some workload to revise post about members being scammed by using fake vouches from other Webpages.

needless to say. Stay safe, do every rigorous scan about people profiles when you are new trading with them, and dont trust in anything you see.

Edit: Im reading some post and I understand that you are going to eliminate SVU why not offer services like this in compensation?

 

i personally think PA vouches aren't really relevant as they operate slightly different, it's also more difficult to verify if it's them whereas other forums (mainly bot ones) you can actually see their feedbacks written out a lot easier.

i think having a subsection forum for off-site vouches is just too much free advertising for alternative sites & it's not really necessary as it'd require moderator input etc

if the person you're trading with claims to have 1,000 feedback on X site you can just ask to see if and make sure it matches up

easy solution to your scenario though..

use a middleman >_<

 

As I said, Its not my personal case which matters, here, NO ONE SHOULD REFUSE TO USE AN MM. Its about people who are legit, willing to give out every information available or resource available, but saving time on not having to explain every time they trade, their status in other webpages or saving time on the users checking on every forum available to check if they are really legit.

 

My biggest advice to you is not to look at offsite feedback. If you're looking on Sythe, only consider their vouches on Sythe and then go to PA separately if you want to check other buyers/sellers there.

It's too hard to verify who is who on a large scale and it's much easier to just not accept off-site feedback.

If you're really concerned use a MM and have them check the legitimacy of the other person for you.

 

Im not concerned about my personal security, nor anyone from Sythe, ignore my personal case, I wasnt worried about being scammed. Im making this suggestion just to add something extra to the forums which could save some time to users, because it is normal to check profiles on people who you are new to trade. If it doesnt seems fitting, well It doesnt. and thats all.

 

Offsite feedback will never be acceptable here. You may link it in pms and skype etc when you are doing business though.
