Imposter Scammed me

Scammer's profile link: Limiq

Amount scammed: 70m OSRSGP

Discord ID + Unique Discord ID: I was deleted so I don't have it.

Proof that it's their Discord: N/A

Explanation of the trade: 70m for 1-5 all roles and torso.

How they scammed: Took the payment and all the gp from my account. (70m payment + 30m items. 100m max)

• I know it's my fault for not confirming so I don't expect to be refunded.

• However I created a ticket in his discord so I'm unsure of how a random person would have pmed me unless they're also in the discord which it doesn't show regular users to each other or when they join or when they create a ticket.
• 
  
• So someone with access must have committed the scam in my opinion.
• 
  
• I believe they are attempting scams before they do the real orders.
• 
  
• The user added me and instantly referred to me creating a ticket.

• I'm just curious of how they got all the information if it isn't public and I can't even reopen the DM with them.

• Let me know what you think! I'm just looking for answers.

@no hessi By the looks of things I'm assuming someone PM'd you pretending to be Limiq through the service Discord (coincidentally the time that you made the ticket around). I don't believe Limiq or his team were doing anything shady based off what you've shown, rather that this is an extremely common practice for imposters to attempt to scam users through service discords by mass PMing them to see if they have any open tickets in order to trick them. Unfortunately they seemed to have got you at the right time.

My best advice moving forward is stick to dealing in the tickets to avoid confusion, and/or if you're doing a transaction through an individual yourself, then make sure you triple-check the Sythe PM so that the information lines up (UID more importantly, but also the ID, convo, BTC address if applicable, etc.).

@no hessi Before I close this may you provide me with the Discord UID and a gif/recording of you obtaining the UID of the user who imposter scammed you so I can note it for future reference.

 

@Yellow_Hat_OSRS_Services explained to me what happened. I just haven't used Sythe in almost 7 months and was pre-distracted. I didn't gr ab any of his info before he blocked me, I know for next time though thank you.
