    Changing The New Zealand Flag

Read the stickies of sfa, should be in general discussion.

The flag holds too many ties to the british and loses it's own indentity indefinitely. Everyone is afraid of change, so a debate over it is expected.

I wouldn't mind the change, but I think it's a good move for NZ.

    Changing The New Zealand Flag

It's been brought up previously in the past but no clear conclusion was reached. The majority pushing for a change or a second flag seems to be Maori sympathizers since the current flag holds ties to the British. Firstly, having two flags is retarded. Secondly, I don't like the PC change to everything being more "maori friendly". I wouldn't consider myself a racist, merely practical. Recently we adopted new Maori names for the North and South islands, but who remembers them? No one. They are still referred to exclusively as the North and South Islands. Realistically too, Te Reo is a dying language which has no real world applications asides from if you are a social worker which is a pleb job anyways. Almost all Maori's speak English anyways. Lastly, it's just a flag.
