Was I scammed?

So, I am new here and never thought someone would actually scam me over a gamertag/videogame. Apparently kids have no morals today. At least, I hope they're kids and not some loser adult.

I send H00DLUM $30 for a 15th prestige account yesterday at noonish.
He was changing the pw as I was paying and then disappeared. Maybe he just got busy? IDK.

I sent $25 to Zerked Please for the GT "converse" and he has logged in a half dozen times since and no response to my payment.

I sent both payments as gifts so maybe no recourse for me...???
I will call paypal today if I don't hear from them...

 

I would call paypal now, and cancel it. Make sure you have your money. If he wants to trade you after that use OMM, or very trusted MM. Always be safe on here, many scammers, but also good people here too.

 

call them right away and ask for the seller to show proof that they gave you the virtual goods, if they cannot...you will receive your money back

 

This is the thing we have to look out for on here :/. A few idiots ruin legit trading for others! Morals > pixels anyday!!

I'm curious why, as a moderator, you would not want someone to publicly warn the fellow forum members of scammers....??
Should I just keep it to myself and hope it doesn't happen to the next guy...??

Also, I would think you, being a mod, would be more concerned/sympathetic...

Is there another way to report this?
Does anyone really even care?

 

Well for starters dude this the Xbox section you're not going to get good replies here. You can report the scammer in the "Report Scammer Section"

Make sure you provide proof, though. Such as like MSN conversations, etc. If you provide the proper proof the scammers should get banned. As for getting your money back open a dispute on PayPal and provide as much information as possible and hopefully you'll win. Always use a MM if you're a new trader and this will prevent you from been scammed. Best of luck getting your money back and learn from this lesson with not just going first to anyone.

Just like they said that it goes in report a scammer. I could infract people who wanna smear someone's name without proof. IMO this is wasting stafftime. As a mod we don't like when people say things about other members. If you got proof it goes in the report a scanner section to be reviewed by mods
