Runing RSBot over Night [Guide]

Introduction:

Since I took a glimps at the thread "Botting on Vista" I wanted to make a tutorial for everyone who had the same problems as how I did when I first used RSBot on my Laptop with Vista. This tutorial is simply to help people that have laptops and vista and that are also trying to bot at night. According to the reply's in the thread I read, people were having the following problems:

These problems were related to the ones I had when I was runing RSBot overnight.

ALL THATS GONNA CHANGE

Step: 1

The first thing to do is set your Power Options, were you can choose what action you want your laptop to do when you close the lid, which is what everyone wants to do.





Notice that were is says "When I close the lid" select the "Do nothing" tab.

Now you can do what ever you want and leave the computer on while the lid is closed. But, now for it to not go on the screen saver or "Hibernate/Sleep/Stand by/Log off" while the lid is closed, you will need to download these files from My Attachment

Installing & Configuring Desktop Lock

Now, download or if you have already done that you install the file that is called "dlbisnt.exe" which is the setup app for Desktop Lock. The other file called "SERIAL.txt" is opened up with notepad, which is the serial key. Once you install the program, you have to register it by clicking register at the bottom were Web Help About Exit is.

Configuring Desktop Lock


1. Now, when you luanch Desktop Lock and you already have installed it; click on Configure

2. What I recomend doing to keep it nice and simple is to set the lock mode to select the "Lock current desktop without any change" tab like on the image as shown.(After you get use to using this, you can then change it to how you want, to experiment with it alittle to discover what mode best fits your needs) I also like to add that when you select this tab, it takes a screenshot of your screen and your desktop will look like its on, the other tabs underneath that do other things, I just happened to have it set up that way for a reason...

3. Then, Create your "Lock Hotkey" example: Ctrl + Alt + R
You must hold all these buttons down to work, but not just yet, wait ontil your finished cause then your gonna lock your self out LOL...

4. Now click on the Unlock tab at the top in between Lock and Display.
Select the "Unlock by hotkey." tab.
The "Unlock Hotkey" is for you to unlock your desktop after you open the lid or when you leave it on, Example: Ctrl + Alt + rl
is my unlock hotkey for when I want to unlock the desktop.

This is all you have to do for now, onless you can explore and change the Hotkeys how you want or explore the other top tabs. I also like to add that this would be perfect to be a STICKY and I will also appreciate if you REP me for all the hard work I put into this tutorial, you can always reply if you need help.

Rofl, I created these guides in rsbot.org, but they died so I had to find my .txt files of my guides and put them in here...

 

Proof that this is your guide because at the bottom it says Rep me for all the hard work and there is no rep system on these forums, Please prove that this is your guide somehow?

I was from CEF then moved to rsbot.org and then moved to here...
