It's very unfair for criminals not to receive the punishments they should be getting.
If someone is to steal, whether it be 100-1000 dollars, your stealing money that a family may need for the month, the criminal should be fined and jailed.
Shootings, you shoot a whole family and you get out on bail?
Thats bs IMO, the law needs to be looked over and the death penalty shouldn't be taken away.

On the other hand thousands of people are on death row without doing anything.
Something just needs to be thought out.

Revenge solves nothing and helps no one.
If someone punches your tooth out, what does punching that person's tooth out accomplish? Nothing. Maybe it makes you feel better but it doesn't bring back your tooth and it takes away someone else's.

Paying for murders to sit on death row is rediculous. Give him to the family members. Let them kill them. If they dont want to. Bring back the firing squads. Bullets are cheaper then meals.

Rapists? Let huge fags rape them then shoto them twice in the back of the head.
Child molesters? Hang them upside down by thier balls and cut off thier arms and legs slowly.

Decrease the penilties for non violent crimes. Raise the penilites for violent ones.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

Let's say someone killed your brother. That would be a crime obviously, as it was wrong, he shouldn't of. Yet then you go and kill him, and you can consider that just? No, it is just as wrong, just because your reasons suit your opinion better doesn't mean it is anymore right. Maybe the killer of your brother had reasons behind it as well, and they made just as much sense to him as yours to you.

    Violence doesn't solve violence mate.

If he's found gility in a court, that he killed the person in cold blood. You should be able to kill the person.

Now, if it was self defense, I'd say it would be wrong.

Say someone you hated jumped off a 1000m tall cliff and killed your dog while killing himself in the process.

Do you repeat trying to kill his dog?

    Let's reword that then...
Say someone you hated jumped off a 1000m tall cliff with the intention of killing your child while killing himself in the process, and succeeded.

Do you repeat trying to kill his child?

“Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.”-Confucius

An eye for an eye you say? If someone close to you died at the hands of a serial killer, would him dieing make your situation any different? It makes sense in theory yes, but so dose Communism. How would that make the individual that was close to you any less dead? It wouldn't so why? Because you think the act of murder is wrong, and what He or her did was unforgivable your going to do it?

Even in the Bible it says an eye for an eye...

It also says Let God judge....

Retribution in this manner is generally not the best ideology.

It's hypocritical, and can a rapist really be punished in this manner?

But does he really deserve death, what if the innocent is killed.

What kind of retribution is giving a killer exactly what he wanted?

    Agreed. That's pure bloodrevenge.
A rule western society has fought against.

    No, seriously tell me.
What's wrong with the punishments now?

If you gave a rapist the death penalty, it would be a breach of the 'Eye for an Eye' rule.

As you cannot possibly rape a rapist as a moral punishment, this shows inconsistency in 'An eye for an eye.'

However, if a rapist rapes and then murders the victim, and the rapist is only murdered, he has not served his full punishment, under the rules of 'An eye for an eye.'
