Warez rule & shareware programs

The forum stance on warez is the following:

Am I misunderstanding, or are shareware programs not allowed? Why? The point of shareware is just that; it's trial software, you can try it for X amount of time and then you'll have to either drop it or buy it. Anyways, there is nothing illegal in linking to downloads of shareware programs. Cracked versions are obviously different, but my issue is with the bolded part.

if this is the wrong section, LoS is to blame

 

I don't really see how it's causing that much of a problem, although I would like to see why was in there in the first place.
