    Make sure to have a dip into CSS at the same time and then PHP from there, knowing only HTML is pointless really.

    PHP is actually a bit offtrack. While it is a useful language, I would say go for the HTML/CSS/JS combo. All client side.

    I personally love to use w3schools
    -google it.
    it has some neat stuff and a guide :)
    that's how I learned.

    I'm currently experimenting with HTML, and whenever I want to do something, I just Google it :) w3schools has popped up quite a bit and that's what people seem to recommend so :)

    You should also browse http://www.tizag.com. Lots of great stuff there as well.
