    Wanting to get into Photoshop/Gimp/AAE

Well, for a long time now I have wanted to start learning Photoshop, Gimp, and more in depth of Adobe After Effects, as I do not always have an internet connection around me and it would be something to do while I am offline.

I do know a LITTLE about Gimp, and I did play around with it a tiny bit, but not much.

Any introductory tip and hints would be appreciated. Maybe links to VERY good and well written tutorials? If you can help me out and get me started, that would be great. Please do not post saying, "Youtube", or "Look around forums." as yes, I know both of these exist, but I am asking for personal input from forum users, thank you.

What I would recommend is searching "Photoshop Tutorials" on Google to start off. They have a range of guide's for you to choose from. Some of the site's even provide plugins and downloads which would help, such as a range of different brushes. I think that a start on the simpler ones with the tutorials is a good start, as you get more complex you start remembering what you did in previous tutorials and come up with original stuff. It's all imagination :)

Please read all of my post next time, I specifically said do not post, "Search tutorials." Yes, I did say via forums or Youtube but I assumed people would have the common sense to know I meant, do not say search for guides, at all.

Like when I started, I was just messing around alot.
Look, when you watch tutorials it's more of copying then learning, if you mess around and do things you actually like to do in photoshop (for ex. you like to edit a ton of text, do so!) then do that.

You will learn a TON more by just messing around and practising than to watch those damn tutorials.
If you are completely mindblown on what to do, I'm sorry, but I cannot say anything better than actual google.
Google provides the most tutorials, there aren't any VERY in-depth websites that can learn you alot.

That's just my point of view on it..
If you want any further help, feel free to throw me a PM, I will also keep a look on this thread.
