Transfering name of a banned account?

Hey guys,

I have an account banned with a name that I am really fond of. I want to try playing again, and I would like to use that name. Is it possible to transfer a name on a banned account, or would I just buy a month of membership for nothing?

Straight off of RSWiki: "You may not change your name while banned."

 

That is true, however I think when they release names every year, those who haven't played (includes banned accs, unless Jagex logs into them) will be freed up.

 

You would have to wait until they release names again. Even then, it depends on what it was banned for. If you are a high profile player or were banned for things like dicing, they won't release the name.
