I rarely see void knight melee anywhere, why? because people think their normal gear is better then the +10% strength/attack.
That's where you are wrong and my calculations will prove it.
With void knight melee I can use:
Amulet - Fury +8
Weapon - Abyssal whip (common) +82
Cape - firecape +4
Ring - Berserker ring +4
Boots - Dragon boots +4
Shield - Rune defender - +5
That adds up to +107 strength bonus, using ultimate strength on tip.it's max hit calculator will be the 10% bonus.
With that gear I will hit (with my 84 strength)
28. + 10% attack bonus.
Normal Gear:
Helmet - Neitiznot +3
Body - Fighter torso +4
Amulet - Fury +8
Weapon - Abyssal whip (common) +82
Cape - Firecape +4
Ring - Berserker ring +4
Boots - Dragon boots +4
Shield - Rune defender +5
Hands - Dark gloves + 12
Legs - Bandos tasset +2
+128 strength.
With that gear I will hit (with my 84 strength)
29. (No +10% attack bonus.)
Okay here the discussion begins, as you see I can hit 1 more with normal gear but how many have a Bandos tasset or Dark gloves? I'd say most common is Dragon/barrows leg wear and let's say rune gloves.
That's a loss on 6 from the strength bonus meaning a hit of 28 instead of 29 and still no +10% attack bonus.
Result: Void knight melee armor 28 +10% attack, normal 28 + nothing.
Pros with Void knight melee:
1. Higher attack.
2. cheap.
Cons with Void knight melee:
1. Takes long time to get. (can be discussed)
2. Lower defence bonuses.
3. No black mask.
NOTE:
Amulet - Fury +8
Weapon - Abyssal whip (common) +82
Cape - firecape +4
Ring - Berserker ring +4
Boots - Dragon boots +4
Shield - Rune defender - +5
You can of course have 2h etc. but it read below.
changing them will have effect both sets
