too many scammers!

since i have been scammed 4 times in 1 week so far and lost almost $100! i have an idea to stop it! if some 1 scamms then insted of banning the user, ban the ip address from the site!

im so frkn pissed of with scammers! if you are too put this in ur sig:

It comes down to trading safely.. an IP ban is pointless. It takes all of 5 minutes to get a new IP. Make sure you use a trusted MM, verify emails, get PMs from the users, record etc if you plan on having a successful trade. It's the internet. You generally can't trust anybody.

Not on the internet. Believe me, trusting people on the internet unless proven trustworthy, is a VERY bad idea.

 

I suggest you find out about the username / Email they use as a starters to see if they scamm or not ( Google ). If 1 scammer post or thread comes up then already watch out.

Always trade with people who have either alot of vouches or who is willing to use a OMM

You've been scammed because you've simply been stupid when trading. There are plentiful guides on how to not get scammed, and for your "suggestion," on how to ip ban the user is just stupid. It's easy to change your IP and if this was the case the user wouldn't be able to dispute their ban.

That's the kind of thing scammers put in their signature.

 

Sythe is the home of scammers and the home of the not so cool cats, get used to it, some are legit some are not, thats life and thats the internet.

 

And this is why you use an MM/OMM.

I agree. There should be more OMMs around as during my time of the day, i cannot find any OMMs around thats why i try to trade but in the end get scammed again...

I really emphasize the fact that you were stupid enough to not even look at anti scam threads, and seriously how can you lose a total of 100 usd...that's something that would happen if like a moderator scammed you

Also, to the people saying we need more OMMs, we don't handpick them, they apply through a lengthy process and then they get judged.

We do what we can to prevent scammers from coming back, but as said, its really not very hard to change your IP.
