Moved to the _correct_ programming forum.

I prefer .Net to version 6. By the way, the latest version is Visual Studio .Net 2008. Perhaps you would like to look at it? http://www.microsoft.com/express/

Once you've got the basics down, I recommend moving on to C# or something similar. Nonetheless, I'm sure if you looked on a bittorrent tracker you could find a whole host of ebooks. You will need a bittorrent client to download these. Do a Google search for uTorrent. Some good trackers are Isohunt, Demonoid, and The Pirate Bay. (Demonoid requires an account, and registrations are usually closed)

DO NOT USE TORRENTS! They can be traced etc. Just use warez forums for eBooks etc.

Oh? I've been using BitTorrent for years, and I have never come in trouble with authorities. Also, it is highly unlikely that you will be traced by downloading an ebook. The only case I've heard of someone being traced was when he downloaded Microsoft software, from a torrent that was deliberately put there by Microsoft to trace illegal activity.

If you know what NOT to download, you're fine. eBooks are in the safe zone.

I download gigabytes of Anime, Games, music and general software every month via Bittorrent.
