There are no bad elements

After listening to annoying Canadian radio personality Lowel Green for two hours I was not only annoyed by his assumptions about his guests private lives, but also when he claimed that the "bad" element Fire was, well, bad.

He claimed that fire, because of it's destructive qualities was "Evil" he made references to "fires of hell" to support his argument.

Using the assumption that there are four elements, Wind, Water, Fire, and Earth.
Discuss in a intelligent way using evidence weather you think there are bad elements or not.

 

elements aren't evil. sure they can be used in an evil way, like arson, but that makes the person evil, not the element

 

idk who that radio person is but he is obviously full of it. the elements aren't alive, so they can't be "good" or "evil"

 

Well in mother nature there is no good and evil.

fire represents life, without it in the natural world you would be screwed without it. you need fire to cook, to boil water, for warmth. If you ever watch survivor they would basically die without fire.

 

With Radioactivity it can boil water cook for you and it is 100x worse then fire, why does no one complain about Radioactivity? his assumptions are dumb and uncalled for.

Assuming we take the ancient greek views of the structure of matter (which have been undoubtedly proven wrong), fire may have some bad connotations; however the positive effects are far greater. But really, you can't call fire an element.

Anyway, to sum up, i agree, there can be no bad elements, as calling an element "bad" would merely personify it in a childish way.

How can elements be in fact 'evil' if they have provided humans with so much over the course of existence. Even from the dawn of time, fire was used not only for practical purposes, but even just to feel safe. Fire promotes a safety, and a protection about it. If something does that, why would it be evil? Just because a person can harness these elements and use them for evil, doesn't make the element itself evil. That's just idiotic.

 

Of course there are no "evil" elements, all elements play their own individual role in the development of the earth, and in turn that of human kind. Do you think without fire we would have ever advanced beyond eating raw plants and roots, or fighting our battles with sticks and stones? Do you think without water we would ever have come into existence? All the elements play a vital role in all kinds of development, and it is how you use them that can be for good or evil, not the elements in themselves.

 

lol il correct you, its ALL made up of gas. 70% of which is hydrogen and 28% which is helium. Carbon, nitrogen and oxygen make up 1.5% and the other 0.5% is made up of small amounts of many other elements such as neon, iron, silicon, magnesium and sulfur.

 

Elements can't be evil, but they can't be good either... in their raw form they are neutral, however the forms they are applied to can use them for good/evil purposes...

My element is water... I go best with fire though.

 

Nitrogen, Hydrogen and various other gasses is what the sun is composed of. (Burning of course)

 

Well it's simple I believe there are no bad elements.

1. wind, without wind there would be no air, = we would not nor could not survive.

2.water, without water there is no chance of survival as every living organism relies on water in which to survive.

3.earth, Without earth there would be no main surface in which we could stand on nor a way for us to replenish our oxygen as plants need it to survive.

4.Fire, without fire we A would not be able to survive the cold temperatures in which you see in for instance Alaska, Canada, Russia etc. Also without this there would be little way to sterilize anything in which there would be many many plagues and deaths due to contamination.

 

You would be wrong Helium and Hydrogen are not rock.

Elements arn't alive, they cant be evil.. it all depends on how the person uses em.

 

Wind - Tornadoes
Water - Tsunamis
Earth - Earthquake, meteors, landslides.

Don't they all have bad times? After water, fire has been the biggest help to evolving out of the dark eras by making metal, iron, and so on.

 

Exactly... With out these elements we would die any way.
