Bumping Suggestion Threads

Support. You shouldn't punish someone for doing something that they didn't know was against the rules in the first place. A sticky should be made.

 

I agree on a level where it's just once and not a million times. Some people like Rsprod get annoying with it and bump their suggestion thread constantly. If you're just bumping it once every few days than it should be fine.

You could always as well bump than delete your post. I bump my suggestion threads and have never seen an issue so maybe SMR was just having one of "those" days.

 

That's what I figured so I did not question it at the time. It was only one bump and it was after the thread was days old and had many supporters unlike some of the suggestion threads where people bump them 30 minutes after they make them.

 

If they are going to close threads, based on bumping them, then they should make it a section rule.

 

A bump button by a thread creator valid once every 24/48 hrs would be really nice and helpful. It would bump the thread to the top of the section and cause no posts. It could be well moderated and very easy to setup.

 

That is on the Do Not Suggest List.

 

Just bump them every couple days and you should not have a problem, since it is not against the rules.

 

Well, i believe the suggestion is not too popular if the mods/admins don't comment positively on it. They are the ones who handle the changes to Sythe. thus i would see no point in bumping a dead suggestion over and over again.

 

I only bumped it once and it had plenty of supports. I am not here to discuss the fact that my thread was closed due to me bumping it. I just want it clarified if it's against the rules or not and if it's not why was my thread closed.

 

Ahh i see. Maybe they closed it not because you bump'd but because they denied it? And did not put it in denied suggestions archive. They don't always archive it.

It is possible. SMR might have felt the thread unnecessary.
I mean imagine Finn wrote "i support this this" i doubt he'll close it. Were there any actual Mods/Admins who approved?
I mean just ebcause we approve doesn't mean they approve.

This thread is not about him closing it though, I just want to know if theres any rules to bumping a suggestion thread or not.

 

They answered is above then i believe. There inst any rules against it.
As Matt Hasty said, he bumps his own threads.

 

So then that leads to why was it closed lol. If he closed it because he decided to deny it then he should have said so.

 

But i thought i said, he didn't need to say deny to have a suggestion denied. Nowhere did it say a Mod has to post a reason for it to be denied or to even say its denied.
If they feel its unnecessary they could close or delete the thread at any given time without warning.

 

Just stop replying I don't need your opinion, this thread can be closed I am obviously not gonna get a answer.
