"Verbal Warning" for work because of a post on FaceBook?

For everyone saying "just block her", he mentioned his facebook was set to "private" so I'm assuming he DOES have her blocked, or otherwise deleted as a friend. She's still getting in, however, and he wants to know if it's legal for her to get information off of his facebook profile (probably via one of his friends)

If this is the case, then yes, it'd be legal. I'm sure facebook has set some sort of stipulation in its terms of use that states something along the lines of "if you put it on your profile, it's free for anyone to view".

Hell, they sell all your information to third-party applications (which is legal through some twisted way), so I doubt it's illegal for her to deem information off of your profile through any manner besides hacking your account.

EDIT: If you're wondering if she's legally allowed to punish you at work for something on facebook, I don't know about that, but I'll look it up and see if I can find anything

EDITEDIT: this may help you out a bit:

It talks about how a woman won a lawsuit for being fired due to a facebook update. You can find TONS of related stories by goolging "fired for facebook update"

If it was part of a reason you was dismissed from work, if it came to that, I'm pretty sure you'd win a case of unfair dismissal (If your from the UK, not to sure on laws anywhere else).

That's ridiculous, I'd just slap her.

    .

If she is a friend I would remover her, and if it's through friend of a friend through your father I would take him off and discuss the situation with him, I'm sure he would understand. I don't think anything could happen since it didn't involve the workplace, but be more careful because I have heard of companies checking Facebooks before they hire now and whatnot.
