vb6 on vista? Not working.

When I run vb6 on vista everything I load a project in and once I click on a form, it stops responding. Then closes. I cannot even run vb6 without administrator privileges. Any idea on how I can get this to work? I also need to somehow get the inet control and all those others needed to register on vista. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

right click the actual program and go into settings and change the compatibility so it runs for windows xp and it should fix your lil problem

Welcome to the realization that Microsoft has almost entirely stopped supporting VB6.

 

Some people run vb6 on vista and it works fine, well, I can run it in admin mode like I said, but is there a way i can get winsock, inet, etc working? This is a pain and I know that their is a way.

 

I really do suggest you just move on to .Net - Microsoft has pretty much stopped supporting VB6 altogether and with Windows 7 being released either this year or the next it is questionable as to whether you will be able to run VB6 applications at all, let alone the IDE.

 

maybe you should change your name to Visual Basic .NET matt, or maybe JAVA matt.

Are you sure your computer is plugged in and switched on fully?

 

Wow, yeah. But its fixed now I just installed it again and tweaked with it a bit.
