I think it depends what you consider vacation.

To me the beach isn't a vacation. To many people, sand getting stuck in places I don't want and if I got to far in the ocean a shark can get me.

Personally I like going to the mountains and a nice hike is a plus.

If you ever go to Asia, try Hong Kong and Cambodia

I recently came back from south east Asia. 10/10

Yeah its awesome and I have plenty of places I've still not visited. :D

Hong Kong is a perfect gentle introduction for westerners. Lots of English, still very different, lots of comforts.

Cambodia is the true experience. also high level of English, but really incredible temples such as Angkor Watt

Can't believe I forgot to say Singapore it's one of the best places i have ever been.

I live in China as an expat. Plenty of good places here worth visiting, but the almost non-existent level of english so for a beginner traveler outside of the big cities could be a challenge.

I visited Singapore and Malaysia. Also yes that could pose a challenge for a beginner and I'm no pro myself but I'm the type of person that just goes and figures it out when i get there haha
