    Using paypal on PA

I used to be able to purchase on PA using Paypal but now the option appears to be locked? It keeps saying 'unlock this method now using identity verification', however I couldn't find any actual links to verify my identity. Live support keeps giving me some bullshit about how they are 'implementing new systems' without providing any answers.

Any ideas how to get paypal unlocked?

They've had a lot of trouble paying out sellers recently due to people reversing moneybookers payments. This is probably a temporary issue while they sort that out.

    Using paypal on PA

Hi everybody, I work at PA. Let me update you.

First, there's no problems with people reversing moneybookers. The problem was too many people paid us with Moneybookers and then some powersellers had paypal disbursements delayed because we needed to move a LOT of money out of moneybookers and in to paypal so that we can pay our sellers with PayPal. (too many buyers using moneybookers, too many sellers needing paypal made an imbalance). Already fixed and over.

The good news is we have made PayPal more secure for ourselves, the bad news is we're still balancing it, and we're still developing our verification techniques.

In other words, we have limits on PayPal transaction velocity. We also have trust levels. Old members with lots of payments get lots of trust (high limits). New members who have done less business with us have lower limits, and they will see a message telling them to get verified in order to increase their trust level.

We accept two forms of verification.
    1. If you're USA or CAN resident, you can use your credit card to verify your identity. The process is known as 'account vetting' and it is the same process used by PayPal, Moneybookers, and a lot of major financial businesses to verify new customers.

    2. Any country: You can provide ID. (This hasn't been released yet, the tech team is too busy fixing other issues with our new payment options, verification levels, etc, etc.) Expect to see this in a few weeks. Show ID, get lots of trust.

    3. (Not developed yet, maybe in a few MONTHS) Verify yourself by using your bank account. Same process used by PayPal and Moneybookers, and major financial yadda yadda. Prove ID, get lots of trust.

I just had a meeting with top brass, we're going to be bringing PayPal back temporarily so that it's ALWAYS visible and always available, but if someone approaches certain limits, we do manual reviews. (i.e. we ask you to prove who you are and confirm your order, etc.)

I.e. PayPal is coming back, but we will be doing manual reviews again, which means some orders might take a while to process and approve.

After we have upgraded our system so it's faster and easier to develop trust, we'll go back to conditionally blocking PayPal (on large orders) from new members who haven't taken any steps to establish trust yet.
