Friend going to jail...?

one of my friend's sister called me today crying and said to google my friend, i did and this is what popped up:

im so fucking devastated right now. We played soccer and wrestled together from middleschool all the way through highschool. ever since I can remember he always wanted to be a SEAL. He finally got his Trident about a year ago right before he came back for christmas exodus.
we still talk every now and then and he hasnt changed much. he has always been ready for a fight but ive never seen him go off like this, i know its not his normal self. plus there is no way a las vegas cop could take him to the ground if he was coherent.
it just tears me apart that his whole career and life goal is hanging in a balance. i wish there was something i could do for him to help but i cant think of anything besides being there for his family. ive tried to call him but his phone is off. im just so fucking sorry for him it is almost making me depressed.

He should've controlled himself better...i don't think being a navy SEAL matters much he could have killed someone with his training he deserves whatever he gets.

But, about him. That's really sad how you've known him for a long time and when he's finally obtained the rank of a SEAL he's about to lose it.
The best you can do is be there for his family and friends at a time like this.
This happended March, last year? Why have you only heard about it now?
It must be pretty freaky watching the video knowing that's your childhood friend. I guess this is what alcohol and drugs (not saying he did any, but he was under the influence of multiple alcoholic beverages) can actually do to you?

Wow that sucks for you, however personally if he has a good lawyer he may be able to prove temporary insanity, because someone spiked his drink.

Keep trying to contact him, as I'm sure that If he was indeed drugged he would be feeling real down in the dumbs himself. Hope you can pull through this bro, as I'd be devastated if one of my mates had this happen to them.

it doesnt take much to kill a person. if he actually wanted to kill somebody then alot of people would have been dead that night. just like his lawyer said "the attacks were unprovoked." its just random raging and its not like him at all.

if you were in his shoes, and your drinks were drugged and you woke up the next morning in a jail cell and was shown that footage, what would you want them to do with you?

He didnt tell anybody, and it was only just released to the public yesterday.
yes, it makes me sick to my stomach but i still pity him because ive gotten shit faced drunk with him multiple times and he has never acted like that before, hes a goofy drunk. not a raging animal drunk.

Well truth is there is no evidence that he was spiked (the article doesn't say there is evidence), he could have been but nobody knows for sure, people change and he could have done it himself, you don't know for sure, you're being bias because he is/was your friend.
It's likely he will go down for quite a while.

All you can do is support him and his family for now.

 

Well then that make's me think he wasn't himself.
Which mean's he was under the influence of something else.
Spiked or legit drugged.

It's likely he was spiked then, but it's unlikely the victims families will e so understanding.

he fucked up, its not his fault somebody spiked his drinks. the only thing he remembers is being in an ambulance and waking up in a cell. He obviously had no prior intent to hurt those individuals. they are all random people.
nobody died and they are all fine now. they can continue to live their lives while he is probably going to get a 15+ year federal prison sentence and a dishonorable discharge. which completely ruins the chance of ever getting a decent job anywhere

he has spent the last 3 years of his life going through some of the hardest military training in the world. He has given up his 6 years of his life to defend America. The military isnt just a job, its a sacrifice.

wouldnt it be alot better for the victims to forgive him?

How do you know some one spiked his drink? He could have said that (if he did say it) just to have a little defence. But anyways hopefully he didn't just throw his career down the drain. Hope hes alright

 

It does sound a bit fishy to me as well, he clearly wasn't in the right state of mind. The amount of rigourous mental and physical dedication Navy Seals have to go through is insane and is MUCH easier said than done.

Is your friend Bi-Polar? That would definitely explain the situation. Regardless, send him my regards, and I do hope he finds a way to dig himself out of this hole he created for himself.

If he's a NAVY Seal, why should he even drink? You know things like that could be dangerous.. This is why I don't go to any clubs/bars when I know/think something is going to happen like that.
