Xbox 360 Proxy?

Hey guys, my friend from Japan just purchased the new COD maps, but Microsoft won't let him download the maps because of his location. I have seen a lot of people on other forums claim that they have gotten past this using a proxy but they never said how. Is there anyway to use a proxy through xbox live? please give me a detailed guide. Thanks
